Camping La Garenne is located amidst the beautiful nature of the département of Ardèche, in the valley of the Eyrieux River. Managed by Dutch people, this medium-sized family campsite is perfect for young and old alike. There are lovely villages and towns dotted around the area that are great for cultural visits, recreational activities for all ages in the high season and of course the stunning nature. The campsite is short walk from the forest. And there are various rivers in the nearby for canoeing adventures.
The camping grounds are made up of an upper terrace and a lower terrace, which differ around 25 metres in height. Most of the pitches are located on level ground and a number on terraces. The ground at La Garenne is hard and rocky, so the use of pens is required. These are available at reception. The upper terrace has quiet pitches close to a path that leads into the forest or village. Trees, bushes or low walls built from river clay, in typical Ardèche style, create a sense of privacy between the pitches. There are a few XL pitches, most of which are located on the upper terrace. The pitches are interspersed with rental accommodation: mobile homes, lodge tents and safari tents.
For young and old
There is a recreation programme for all ages in the high season. The little ones can enjoy themselves at the 'mini club' twice a week. The campsite also has a playground and a paddling pool. Older children and adults can take a refreshing dip in the L-shaped pool.

This is the worst campsite we have visited on this tour of France. The pitches are cramped and feel on top of each other. There is no advice regarding surrounding area and the electricity didn\'t work properly. Very poor.
Very pleasant campsite, with Dutch owners who make a lot of effort and are really friendly. Both speak exc English. Wi-fi is free and we found gd. Walks from the campsite and into St Laurent, and there is a non-asphalt cycle track the other side of the river. Nice villages in the area, esp Beauchastel. We liked this campsite. We called in on way down south and on way back.
Peaceful and quiet campsite, set in the rural location of a small village.
Dutch owners are very friendly and helpful and speak good English.
There are a few shops in the village for much what you need (walking distance), and some large supermarkets within 10 km.
Plenty of nice walks and cycles in the area, although a little hilly.
Sanitation facilities were first class, the showers were actually too hot !
Thoroughly recommended for either overnight, or a much longer stay.
We visited mid Sept and was 80% full. A testament to the energetic wardens who were organising trips and things to do by the bucketfull. Very popular with Dutch and specialises in Bridge groups. Excellent pool, good size marked pitches, but most sloped one way or another. Only in my opinion let down by mixed toilet facilities (when there was space for male and female), no paper or soap, and the local village was pretty un-interesting !( and thats being kind). Overall though a good site
