Camping De Martinière is located in the Isère, in the heart of the Chartreuse Massif. The camping site offers an exceptional view of the surrounding Alpine peaks. The spacious pitches are laid out on meadows of an old Carthusian farm. The comfortable wash room has given the century-old farm a new lease of life. The wood and utensils of olden days make for a lovely ambiance in 'l'Atelier' (a bar/restaurant). Children will thoroughly enjoy themselves with the heated swimming pool, the play equipment and activities.
The small-scale family camping site De Martinière has been established with respect for nature and is lovingly managed. The grounds are in a magnificent setting with the old, renovated monastery farm building. Over the years the owners have worked the fields and improved them with indigenous trees, shrubs, hedges and plants. The spacious and shady pitches are located on both sides of the farm, some with ample privacy.
The rental accommodation is very special, mobile homes in harmony with nature and environment. There are also basic tents on wooden stilts with a terrace. They have a real bed, two chairs, a dining area and electricity. The lodge huts are also very tasteful, beautifully executed in wood with a large covered terrace. The three wooden chalets are inspired by the mountain huts of the shepherds and have been constructed with environment-friendly material. The furniture was especially designed for the chalets.
Games and mountain sports
Children will enjoy themselves in the heated swimming pool with toddler's pool and the small playground. Also fun: the trampoline, bouncing cushions and jeu-de-boule pitch. In high season there are organised activities (biathlon, treasure hunts, story evenings and cheese and wine tastings).

A lovely site with friendly and helpful staff, and an excellent base for hiking in the Chartreuse massif. Facilities are simple but good; the provision of a heated drying room for clothes was much appreciated when I returned from an all-day hike in a soaking wet condition. I was fortunate to eat in the camp restaurant on the night before it closed for the season; the food was simple but good.
Lovely location after a steep climb from St Laurent du Pont. Good facilities and decent sized pitches. Some 'continental' electric points which may cause some Brits a problem. Bit of a blind bend turning out of the site. ACSI guide fails to print out their opening times - luckily we were a few minutes ahead of their acceuil closing. Be warned. ACSI please take note these closing times should be in your hand books and on the App information!
