Okay for a one night stop over, we stopped mid April and picture of this site are not what the site looks like. Never saw a pool when we walked around, pitches where in poor condition, and there was rubbish in the bushes, with one site having what looked like a small mattress squashed into a bush. Wish I had taken pictures as it looked like a dumping ground.
Very scruffy. Toilet facilities not looked after.
One of those sites where we booked in for three nights and stayed a week. We had driven through Lyon many times but never stopped. What a mistake, it is a delightful city.
The campsite is typical Huttopia - slightly eccentric but with helpful, friendly staff. It is very well positioned, next to a motorway junction and with excellent public transport links to the city. A large and good Auchan is a five minute stroll.
Pitches are a fair size. Toilets a bit dated but clean. They may get a bit crowded in high season.
The pool is a bit shallow at one end but we managed decent 30 minutes swims every day.
Didn't really like this campsite at all. Poor pitch management on arrival. When we found our allocated pitch was already taken we were just told - "well just find another one." Pitch size on the small side too (had an old VW bus and a medium sized tent). Swimming pool was an over crowded hot mess so we gave that one a miss. Would not go back.
This site is okay for one night stop over going north or south. Toilets and showers are good and clean the pitches are small. Pay your money and move on is my advice. Some nice restaurants close by so eat that night before you go the next day
Couldn't even get on our designated "pitch" other campers intruding on our pitch with NO intention of moving over priced! How they got a 4 star rating is beyond me, we will never be back at this site
Small pitches, close together but good as a transit stop. Good shade available in places. Motorway noise but then you can see that from the map! Auchan just over the motorway (5 mins drive). Public transport to Lyon centre from site is good. Well-used site. Good pizzas and free wifi.
Staff were really helpful, especially telling us how to get into Lyon. We spent the whole of September in France and Spain and only used ACSI sites (16 in all), and all toilet facilities were brilliant as was the staff. Always helpful and spoke good English.
We stopped for 2 nights so we could visit Lyon. We found all the staff helpful and English was spoken. In reception there are suggestions of where to visit in Lyon and we were given explicit instructions on transport(bus and train- easy). We bought our travel tickets in reception, not expensive. The plots are hard standing and OK for a short stay. Some taffic noise but then you are just off the A6 which is very convenient and there's a hypermarket 5 mins away. A well run site and one I would recommend.
Had a two night stop to visit Lyon. Campsite staff not over friendly. Only one Sanitation block open as low season. Sanitation block under reception and good and clean. Found it had to orientate pitches with map given at first as unusual layout. Pitches narrow and along the roadways. Had to use leveling blocks as pitch on a slope. All hard standings. Unfortunately don't have motor-mover and while we were out someone pitched very close to our draw bar making it awkward to hitch up. Free wifi hotspot but didn't work with our chrome book.
Drove into Lyon on Sunday and found free parking along by the River Soane. Less than a mile to walk to roman ruins and Basilica. Site easy to miss but very close to Petrol station on roundabout once you go through Porte de Lyon Arch.
