On the recreational Lake Bourget in Aix-les-Bains you will find the well organised municipal camping site Du Sierroz, within walking distance of the harbour and the centre. Aix-les-Bains is a wellness resort and a tourist attraction due to the natural spring water. The camping site is an attractive base for hikers, cyclists and water sport enthusiasts.
The spacious pitches (90-110 m2) are located along straight streets and are demarcated with hedges. Most pitches on grass are provided with shade by high trees. You are allowed to select your own pitch here. The camping site also has a number of mobile homes available for rent. There is a small playground for children, but no entertainment programme. There is a table tennis table and a pétanque court.
Short walk to Aix-les-Bains
There is no shop on the camping site. Due to renovations there are also no facilities such as a bar or restaurant for the time being. Fortunately, it is only a short walk or bus ride to Aix-les-Bains, where there is a wide choice of eating establishment and shops.
In the vicinity of the camping site you can make trips in the mountains and along lakes, green fields and vineyards. There are several signposted cycling routes you can follow. At the reception you can rent (electric) bicycles and mountain bikes.
It take approximately ten minutes to walk to Lake Bourget. It is suitable for swimming, sailing, kayaking, waterskiing and diving. No own equipment? No problem! Surf boards, canoes and sailboards can be rented here. The lake is a good spot to learn windsurfing, waterskiing and sailing. You can relax on the pebble beach or on the lawn.

Convenient for the lake. Good access. Level but quite small pitches. Toilets up to the usual French standard. Food reported to be excellent but not available on Sunday evening. Staff friendly.
What a wonderful location just across from the most bueatiful lake and 10 minutes walk from the grand port where you can get boat trips the one across to the Abbey is well worth doing get your ticket from the tourist information office. The site issue you with bus passes for the bus into town which stops at the entrance to the site
Unfortunately the site is extremely cramped and was full mid June of French people who all seemed to know each other and had some very noisy evenings. The pitches were very small and unkempt the hedges obviously hadn\'t been cut this year and because of this people with caravans had to squeeze their cars in wherever they would fit which made the whole place resemble a giant car park.
Reception is closed from 12.30 til 2 and they only have some pitches allocated for ACSI discount which were tiny.
Pleasant site, with the obvious benefit of being close to Aix town & the Lake. Reasonable san facs, although not all open (early October) despite site being quite busy. Previous reviewer has noted only 6A electric supply offered with ACSI card, despite 10A stated in book. Note also that only certain areas of the site are available at the ACSI rate - we arrived over lunch-time & had to change pitch when this was made clear. Good lake-side walking & cycling, free wi-fi available.
Near to Lake Bourget this extensive campsite has good heated facilities and plenty of shading trees. Good area for walking and cycling with the moutain backdrop.
Beautiful location, but, unfortunately, this site is not up to the standard of the site we have used in ACSI. Toilets were quite dirty and pitches could have done with some gardening. The staff were nice and helpful, but we won't return in a hurry. Pity as the lake side walk is wonderful.
