The French town of Doué-la-Fontaine is located in the Maine-et-Loire department between Angers and Saumur. This region in the Loire is known for its castles, vineyards, and picturesque villages. But also the impressive marl quarry of Falun. The Les Rives du Douet campsite is a small-scale family campsite that can be used as a base for visiting these attractions.

Plenty of shade for us and our dog. The small river outside was great for a paddle. The washing facilities were perfectly fine, including toilet paper
On arrival I could see two waiting spaces outside reception but beyond the closed barrier. Outside, near the code number keyboard was clearly marked no stopping so as I approached i gave a polite toot for reception to lift the barrier. The chap in reception was furious and said he expected me to park many metres in the car park outside and walk in (the

Municipal camping. Nice places. One new sanitaire block which was excellent. The existing one in the center of the camping outdated and no warm water
