In May: Ok for 1 night stop if you have your own Sanitation! We stayed 2 nights using our own Sanitation! There are 5 x Sanitation blocks, but only 1 open (the one nearest to reception). For some strange reason - the perfectly good pitches (good sized and with Electric) around this (open) sanitation block were not used - Instead Campers were put onto various parts of the site well away from any working Sanitation block - even though they could probably see one a short distance from their pitch. The Sanitation block was clean and Modern, but I am making low as was a long way from the pitches actually in use. Many pitches were "groomed" nicely - ours and the surrounding ones hasn't been serviced since last year by the look of things. It seemed to be random where pitches were allocated, other than nowhere near working Sanitation. We were not asked the length of our Caravan (7.4M) and ended up on what looked like the smallest pitch on the site - at least the neighbouring pitches all seemed bigger. Both of us have bad knees and sometime use a stick to walk - we wandered over the site to find the working Sanitation block (we did have a marked map to be fair!). Having located it and confirming all other were closed we found it best to use the car to go for our Showers. (Once). Otherwise, we relied on our own facilities. When it came to emptying our Chemical toilet, I found that the "Disposal point" nearest to our Van was "tired". The waste Flap would not stay up until I found a make-shift wire and hook on the side. The toilet rinsing tap was set too low for a normal cassette toilet - this wasn't a problem as the tap didn't work! I had to use the "fresh-water" tap (carefully to avoid contact contamination) to rinse my cassette. This was the "push" type tap, that continued to spray water all over me when I removed the cassette as it was angled against the fibreglass unit. I would NOT recommend this site.

Don't go at end season. Closed pool despite website saying open. Only 1 toilet block open,no toilet paper, showers not hot. Staff uninterested apart from receptionist. No character in bar. Wouldn't go again.

We stayed here overnight on our way south in late August. It was not busy, and the camping ground is beautiful, with trees, shrubs, and birds singing. Pitches are large and level. The swimming pool is heated and big enough for a decent swim with very nice surrounding sun beds. and plenty of shade. Downside, are the toilets with no loo roll, and no soap in the hand wash dispensers. A little unloved. We really thought this camping was otherwise of excellent quality, and the crowning glory being the wonderful, helpful, efficent and charming young receptionist.

Useful one night stop over with some long pitches for staying hitched up. Nice walk to nearby lake and sports park. Barrier code was given for access to the site on arrival but, after a stroll, we found the outside gate and pedestrian gate locked at 7pm. Hadn\'t though to take the code and hadn\'t been told the code was for those gates as well. Presumably that means no late arrivals. No one was around until after quite a lot of calling out hopefully, someone emerged from above the office building to let us in. Be warned!
