Camping Bagatelle

This very modest campsite with youth hostel and restaurant lies directly opposite the old centre of Avignon. From the terrace you have a view of the Palais des Papes, the largest Gothic building from the Middle Ages in Europe. The campsite lies directly on the Rhône, near the famous bridge over the river. You cannot camp any closer to the city, it is only a ten minute walk to the centre. Camping Bagatelle (open throughout the year) is convenient for a short stay only. For instance, as an overnight stop or to visit Avignon.

The location was good

The toilet and shower block was very old and in desperate need of updating. The cleaners did their best but it was very smelly and the drain covers were open all over the site, so there is an obvious problem with the drainage system.

The campsite was close enough so you could walk easily into Avignon. The toilets were kept very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly.

The roads through the site had a lot of rain-filled holes and could do with repairing with extra gravel.

War für eine Nacht nahe der Altstadt tiptop.

Die Empfangsdame an der Rezeption wirkte nicht sehr interessiert.

Toilets were kept really clean and the location is amazing!

Some of the pitches house workers and are absolutely filthy. we were opposite a horrible living area which made us feel that our view was of a traveller site. Hated our pitch!
