Excellent site. Friendly helpful staff. First class sanitary facilities. Terraced site down to the lake; lower terraces appear to be mostly for tents and looked a bit crowded and unkempt. We were on the top terrace and had a large flat pitch. Lovely 2hr trip by boat to Prenzlau then back by train. Can recommend
We only stayed here one night on route to Berlin, wish we had had more time. Beautiful setting in a forest with a short walk to a large lake. The staff were the friendliest on our trip and the toilet block was outstanding!! Modern and spotless, the best ever block! We would certainly use this site again, either as a couple of nights stopover on route to Poland or longer as it's own holiday destination. Plenty of sports opportunity on the lake! Only minor criticism is you may need levelling ramps on your pitch but hey...that's what it's all about, fun in the forest!!!
Stunning position by a swim able lake and friendly, helpful hosts are the most memorable things. We enjoyed walks in the country, a trip up the lake on a boat and the return by train to the station just ten minutes walk from the campsite. Toilets and showers well kept. Visiting food vans. Good for people of all ages and sizes. You could easily get here by train from Berlin if you wanted to pitch a tent.
The pitches can be both a plus and a minus. The site is terraced and some pitches have difficult access, although the friendly staff will use their tractor to place and remove the caravan for you. Our pitch would have been difficult to exit if the weight ratio had not been good. On the plus side we did have a tremendous view over the lake with glorious sunsets. The site is on a sandy base so bring appropriate pegs for awnings. Sanitary facilities were spotless and plenty of hot water provided. It was a very quiet site, tucked away in a quiet village but with excellent public transport to nearby Prenzlau by bus and train with train station within walking distance for access to Berlin. Not many alternatives within 25 miles. Attractive countryside for walking or cycling. Excellent situation for water based activities being situated beside a lake.
