My wife and I stayed at this site 15th - 17th June 2012. It is a lovely site ruined by the attitude of the receptionist Hain Gunter. On arrival we presented our ACSI card and ACSI ID. Gunter tossed the ACSI card back across the counter saying it was not valid as Finland and Sweden were on holiday and would be filling the site (incidentally these never appeared).
Before leaving I checked the ACSI book which said it was valid to 18th June. On checking out I showed Gunter the ACSI book at which point he denied having ever seeing my ACSI card. I called my wife in and asked her what had happened on arrival and she confirmed that he had been shown the card. Gunter insisted that he had never seen it shouting “No, No, No”. I therefore paid the non-discounted price. I know I am only about € 20 out of pocket but it is a great shame that this rude and obstinate person has cast such a shadow on our holiday. All the other Germans my wife and I had met have been the most charming and helpful people
We arrived about 7pm, the office was closed, we called out but nobody came. We needed to turn the caravan, so we pushed back the barrier to do this and then a man appeared and severely lectured us about touching the barrier. He was very, very angry and I was afraid he was going to hit me. We do not speak German so don't know what he was saying. After about 5 min of this treatment he gruffly called us forward to the office and let us in, allocating us a very sloping pitch. He said something about 9am and we were not sure if we had to leave by then the next morning or that we could not leave till then. We planned to leave exactly at 9am the next morning to be on the safe side. When we went to wash our dishes after our meal he stood looking at us, but said nothing. We have travelled extensively in Europe and this is by far the worst treatment we ever received at a campsite. We were never afraid before in a campsite.
What a disappointment. We arrived around 7.30 pm to find the gates shut and a very unfriendly welcome. We were left outside the park in what was supposed to be a designated mobile home parking area. Only after much hassle was I given a key to toilet facilities. We had to pay a surcharge for electricity. The staff were very unfriendly and would not attempt any English even though there were many prohibitive signs in the toilet block printed in English. I had especially chosen this park next to the golf course for my husband's birthday. Unfortunately we could not play due to a national rule. However we did thoroughly enjoyed eating there. I would not stay at this campsite again.
