From a relaxing day at the river to cycling and canoeing trips. And you can be in the old centre of Wetzlar (3 km) within just 10 minutes.

real helpful staff, we stayed early season so no food open but that’s not unusual. but what we liked best was the layout of the pitches more like camping in you own small garden . also clean modern toilets and showers powerful and hot. we didn’t bring children so could not comment.ACSI insist on all 5 categories being rated.

We have used this caravan site a couple of times and have found it very useful as an overnight stop location for journeys further south (Austria, Italy etc). It is found a few miles off the autobahn and reasonably easy to find – but ensure your satnav is up -to-date and don’t drive fast...the site is in an urban environment and the route to it is a bit tricky as it involves going over a flyover that you think is taking you away from the town, but drops you on to a roundabout and a sharpish right turn back under it. The site is not large but has room for large caravans in well-spaced pitches. EHU is handily available. There are few water points – the main one we found is practically in the centre of the site but easily accessible. Grey water disposal is near the entrance/exit and is also the waste point for motorhomes. It’s a bit fiddly as you have to lift off a (not light) metal cover to gain access to the drain. There is no grid on this (which seems a little odd and can be awkward). Showers and toilets are found in the main “clubhouse” which is accessed by touchcards. These are very clean and warm. Plenty of hot water available. Pot washing facility is based outside the clubhouse, again, plenty of hot water. Additionally, you can order breakfast from Reception, which can be a very useful service. Adjacent to the site is a bar/restaurant which looks ok but we have never tried it as we have only stayed overnight. Fuel stations and supermarkets are very close by (Aldi is about ½ mile up the road). The Staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are planning to drive out in the evening, ensure you have registered your car with Reception or the barrier won’t automatically lift for you if you get back later. We didn’t and had to leave the car outside and carry our shopping in! No problem but be aware.
