Grüner Jäger is a basic, attractive campsite amidst farming fields in the North of Germany. This is more than an overnight stop; you will never be bored during a longer stay either. Nearby you will find the nature area of Everinghausen where you can go cycling and swimming. A day trip to Bremen will also be on the cards. The camping is in a somewhat remote location in an agricultural landscape, but with the nearby A1 Autobahn it can easily be reached.

Choice of spacious pitches

You can make a choice of the well laid out, specious pitches on grass. Some pitches are unshaded and some are more shady. The pitches are all different, but clearly demarcated. Because the campsite is best reached from the A1, it is especially popular with North Europeans. For people in transit it is very convenient that they can spend the night in a hitched caravan.

Playground and swimming pool

The campsite is child-friendly, with a lovely playground and an animal camp. You can also fish in the nearby river. Near the restaurant at the front you will find the swimming pool with toddler pool and sunbathing lawn.

Sanitary facilities with sauna

The camping shop stocks the basic necessities. There also is daily fresh bread. The rest of the shopping can be done in the village some 5 km away. The heated sanitary facilities are modern and well maintained. You can find every comfort, such as individual washing cubicles, sanitary facilities for families and disabled guests.There is also a sauna .

The restaurant has a wide choice of simple dishes of good quality. There is also a terrace. Take-away is also possible.

Liked - Shower facilities are clean and modern.
Disliked - The site is very run down and in need of care and attention. 15 years ago it was probably lovely but not anymore. It cost us €35 for the pitch with 5kw of hookup. No one greets you at reception and it’s all automated. No one to ask for help. You cannot get hot or cold water for washing/washing up unless you pay more. They’re happy to take extra payment from you but to get a refund on water not used, they suddenly can’t refund to your card. Instead you have to write your email address & account number and put it in a box. This is simply not secure. We will definitely never retun!

Liked - Where we were pitched was very peaceful and shady, but next to what appeared to be a derelict caravan. The site was clean but felt tired and in need of TLC. Wasn't cheap and bit cheeky to have to pay for hot water in sinks and for a shower. Electricity was an additional cost as well
Disliked - If it's going to keep its price then showers need to be included and ditto electricity on the pitches.
