The hilly Sauerland with its rivers and dams forms the perfect background for a stay at camping site Hof Biggen. This is a well maintained camping site along a lovely lake, with slightly different elevations in places. You stay here to do some walking or simply to enjoy camping life, possibly alternated with cultural and sporty day trips.
The camping site is very diverse. It is quite a steep climb to some of the pitches but you will get a splendid view in return. These pitches are also the most spacious. The other pitches are also nicely laid out and in a beautiful location. The atmosphere is relaxed and amicable. If you have not brought any camping gear, you can rent one of a few dozen of tour caravans.
Form campfire to Playstation
Children and teenagers will enjoy the play equipment, sports fields, a Playstation room and a children's cinema. In high season all kinds of activities (campfire) and excursions are organised. Because the camping site does not have its own swimming pool, you can board the 'swimming bus' once a week to swimming paradise Aqua Magis. At a distance of just 4 km from the camping site you will find the Biggesee, where you can swim and take boat trips. Also fun: hire a bicycle and explore the lake area.
Free rental car
There are two rental cars available for camping guests (only petrol costs are charged). This service is ideal for camper van owners.
Old-fashioned cosy restaurant
The camping site shop is well-stocked with daily necessities. The restaurant is managed by an elderly couple and has a convivial ambiance.

Stayed here and found it very good the view was very good. The toilet were clean, the staff were helpful. We took up the offer of having a car for the day free thinking that there would be a catch but it was a genuine offer we had a great day thank you
Very friendly welcome, all staff very friendly and helpful. Site extremely clean and tidy, offered a site with amazing views. Used the car on offer for the day, lovely idea.
The young man Toby who we met as we left was a pleasure to talk with, and we wish him every best wish for his future,
We were so happy to visit and hope to again one day.
Thankyou to all
Just arrived back after three nights at this campsite. From the booking to booking in was so easy and friendly. We were given an unlimited camp pitch with 16 amps in the travellers pitch (no gypsies) at the top of the hill. The grass was lovely and it was a great view. We were about 1000 meters from the shop and 500 meters from the ablution block. They are building a new ablution block which is expected to be finished Sep 13 near the travelling pitch. The restaurant is outstanding and great value for money. I would recommend this site to anyone; once the new ablution block is finished it will make things so much easier for the more frail campers. The site gives discount cards for many local attractions. A must visit.
Run by very friendly people, the camping field is quite a distance from the main road, up a steepish hill, and the shower block is half-way up (or down) the hill and does involve quite a climb. There are only 4 electric boxes on the field, so it is essential you have a long cable . Excellent area for walking/hiking, also the towns of the Ruhr are not too far away, with places to visit such as the Open Air Museum at Hagen or the Mining Museum at Bochum within striking distance. Would certainly come here again.
The pitches are at the top of the site and hill which is a half mile from reception. The view at the top is wonderful looking down the valley in both directions at forests. The toilet/shower block is a 300 metre walk downhill and back up again. They were first class for this very large site. However, there were toilets in a porta-kabin set up at the top of site. The owner did say that they need to build a shower block at the top of the site. The staff were very helpful, all speaking English. The site was busy during our visit but still very enjoyable. Good shop and restaurant at reception.
This is a beautiful camp-site. We were pitched on a field above the main site and the views were fantastic. There were only basic facilities near us though and it was quite a long walk down a steep hill to the showers, which were very good. There was little on the site and as we were early in the season this was to be expected, but the restaurant on the opposite side of the road serves excellent food. It would be best to book as early as possible. We would certainly visit the site again if we were in the area.
