The Ahr valley is well-known for its viticulture. The deep incisions (up to 300 metres) in the rocky landscape are characteristic of the region. Here you will find camping site Denntal, offering excellent opportunities to leisurely explore the area. The valley offers clearly signposted walking and cycling routes. The camping site itself is an oasis of peace and quiet. You are truly surrounded by beautiful nature here.
Let nature embrace you
Camping Denntal presents itself as the quietest and best-equipped campsite in the Ahr valley. You will realise what this means when you look around on a beautiful sunny day: everywhere you see wooded slopes, creating a glorious view in the sunlight. Nature embraces you at camping site Denntal.
Beautiful nature and modern sanitary facilities
The grounds are located in a beautiful natural area. There are demarcated and non-demarcated pitches, all of which have electricity, a tapping point and a drain for dirty water. A number of places are provided with a grass and concrete surface. The sanitary facilities are modern, comfortable and are well-maintained.
Fun playground and fully-equipped fitness room
The campsite is popular with senior citizens and couples, but also families with young children will feel at home here. There is a playground with a fairly large selection of equipment. There is no swimming pool on the camping site, but you can use the well-equipped fitness room if you want to have a good workout.
Restaurant Tannenhof is open from Wednesday to Friday and is known for its ‘gutbürgerliche’ (homestyle) quality and friendly prices. The campsite also offers some basic products.

Large mostly flat pitches in an open valley with wooded sides. Excellent showers - fed by pre-paid card but enough free time for a daily shower. Friendly staff. Walk or cycle into the local town which has limited shopping - but a great sausage shop! From the town you can cycle, walk or take the train along the valley, and the train is bike-friendly so you can cycle one way and take your bike on the train to return. Was quiet when we were there in early July but possibly could get busy if there is an event on at nearby Nurburgring?Easy day\'s drive from the early morning Hook ferry arrival. Relaxing place to slow down at the start of a vacation.
Family run and friendly welcome. Mostly flat pitches in open valley with wooded banks. In early July there were plenty of spaces, although we had booked. Near enough to Nurburgring so don’t know if a big event would change this. Walking or cycling distance to local town with modest shopping facilities (but a great sausage shop) where you can join cycle or walking tracks or get the train along the valley or as far as Bonn. Train is bike friendly too. Associated restaurant but we didn’t try it. Good sanitary facilities. Showers driven by card but we were given cards with enough time on them for a daily shower. Would happily come back here and explore the area more. Easily reached from morning arrival of Hook ferry.
I would highly recommend this campsite. We stayed for 11 nights with our 2 daughters (aged 5 and 7) and we had a lovely time. The location is gorgeous - set in a beautiful valley. It was fairly quiet while we were there (it was the beginning of July) and there was plenty of space for our large tent on the camping field. The shower and toilet facilities are the best I have ever seen on a campsite - so clean and tidy and we were in 80's music heaven every time we went there!! There is also a restaurant on the edge of the campsite which was a lovely place for a drink and does great food. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Germany.
Excellent campsite with spotlessly clean facilities. Large level pitches. Bar not open when we visited but gastatte just up the road. Staff adequate but not particularly friendly but this doesnt detract from experience.
