Country Camping Schinderhannes is a largely wooded terraced camping site, located on a lake. It is situated south-east of the village of Hausbay. The camping pitches are spacious, have a grass surface and offer ample shelter. There is always plenty to do, both on the camping site and in the area. Swimming and sunbathing are logical options with a lake on one's doorstep.
Large, wooded grounds
The grounds of Camping Schinderhannes cover a large area. There are no less than 300 touring pitches. From the reception, you follow the gravel paths to the camping meadow where your pitch is located. There are a few trees and the perimeter is bordered by a hedge of trees and bushes. Most pitches, therefore, have a 'back cover' of green foliage. A few pitches offer a lot of shade.
Charming restaurant and fresh rolls
Motorhome owners are also welcome, either on the camping site or off the grounds. If you wish, you can rent a touring caravan. You do not have to cook yourself: at the entrance is an attractive restaurant with a menu which offers ample choice. The camping site has a small shop where you can buy essential foodstuffs and fresh bread is available in the morning.
Swimming enthusiasts and tigers
You will never get bored here. The camping site is located on a small lake, suitable for swimming. Swimming enthusiasts can also use the indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Also fun: hit a few balls around at the tennis court. The area is eminently suited for walking and cycling. The zoo in Bell with tigers and raccoons is a lot of fun for children.

We have used this site as an overnight stopover annually for the past 4 or so years. It is only a couple of minutes off the motorway and it has specific areas designated for one night stops. The facilities are clean and functional although perhaps not the most modern. The site has new owners this year. Handy for a sightseeing trip to Boppard which sits.on the Rhein. There are local garages so you can re-fuel without paying motorway prices. We will certainly use the site again because it is so very convenient.
Nice site with large pitches and an on-site restaurant /bar. There is a big lake but it didn\'t look inviting for swimming when we were there. Nice walks around the site and by the lake. Very quiet countryside.
A return to this site after 4 years. It was very quiet and peaceful. We used a pitch with access to water, electricity and grey water disposal which was very convenient. We had meals in the restaurant which was of high quality and excellent service. Though near the autobahn the resulting traffic noise was minimal and the site offers a good base for a stopover or a longer stay.
A lovely peaceful site, convenient for the motorway and access to the Rhein and Mosel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Lots of room compared with other Rhein. Mosel sites. We visited the restaurant which served good value for money meals in a friendly manner. This site is also ideal for night halts for motorway travelers.
This campsite is enormous with over 300 touring pitches most offering EHU. It is well split up into different areas with trees and bushes so does not feel impersonal. The new toilet block is spacious although they were having problems with the hot water system when we were there. Lots of grass pitches within a short walk of the facilities. Some with shade. Do not pitch too near the lake as you may be troubled by mosquitos. We had no problems. Lots of in transit visitors. Wifi is good but you do need to go to reception to use it (not very handy for most of the camping sites). Do remember to log off - not just switch off the wifi connection. Easy drive to the A9 to visit some of the pretty towns on the Rhine.
very quiet and secluded site with a variety of level pitches - friendly and helpful owners - also base for organised international touring parties (Mir-Tours) - new shower block which was spotless (as always in Germany) - does seem to be a busy Friday stop-over for those heading South - good walking / cycling on old railway line - local community with basic shopping - some internet issues - nice looking restaurant but not used
Super site to enjoy the lovely Rhine Valley.
Good food available in the on site restaurant. Helpful staff
