The campsite is well laid out and relatively flat. the grass is well kept and cut regularly. Generally the site could do with a good makeover - it looks as though it has been a long time since there was any significant investment in the site. Toilets and showers are clean and tidy, but also tired and outdated. Washing up facilities look although they have been repaired time after time with odd taps on every sink.
The club on site was open every night. Food was available, which was very basic, frozen food - deep fried / microwaved and pretty expensive at that. Drinks were also very expensive. No draught beers just cans that are massively overpriced. A bottle of average wine is three times more expensive than could be bought at Tesco's in Castlebar. This was a very quite site during our stay in May, probably no more than four caravans and our tent. Overall a very quite, peaceful site that could do with a good makeover. Food and drink are average and overpriced.
Cleanest and best cared-for site we found in Ireland. Site owners helpful and have taken the trouble to find walking and cycling routes from the campsite. Very quiet. Strongly recommended.
This evaluation has been obtained by our inspector from a questionnaire at the camp site.
