Best Campsite in Connemara” Update 22nd September 2025. 20+ years pus I have been coming to this lovely spot 5-6 times a year, and it's the only natural camping ground that's not man made I go to. i travel 3 hours to get to here but the journey is so worth it. Clifden ego beech is no longer in my book the best in connamera "I'd say it's ranked right up there with one of the best in Ireland as regards the ego friendly environment and it's natural surroundings". I have seen it grow from strength to strength and get even better every year. Kris and his wife has it well run, toilets are always clean showers and kitchen always spotless recycling bins for each item, bookings are made easy and they are lovely hosts it's wild camping at its best. Sunset yet again are always amazing .the weather can be windy and or rainy sometimes its wild camping along the rugged Atlantic shore, its best you take the good with the bad aes far as the weather is concerned, the sun sets and sun rises are amazing i love it ,it really has to be witnessed. Anyway for me being honest coming here 20 years or so the ego beech is my go to the one and only campsite i have ever been to, i get my peace and my tranquility ,relaxation from its natural wonders and beauty surrounding the park, the golden sands the sunset's,dreaming by the stream under the stars with light of a pit fire all stunning on a clear night. I have met some lovely people along the way and on the plus side helping the environment while doing so with the owners vision of what clifden ego beech is and what it stands for and most importantly what it means to people like me. Words cannot describe clifden ego beech, you would have to experience it for yourself, for its wild camping at its best - hot showers, fire pits, sand dunes , unspoiled Golden Sandy Beach and a fantastic views and omey . This Eco friendly park is located near to all the tourist hotspots example- Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, Innishboffin Island, Killary Fjord, Rossadillisk Beech a complete paradise and don't forget the one and only Clifden Sky Road. Let's not forget the Roundstone loop rosadalisk a a gem and a place of beauty that you can only imagine in paradise. The campsite was ideal for us, for we wanted to explore Connemara , the beach surrounding the campsite is private and with breath taking views of the Connemara Mountains and the Alantic Ocean. Even when it rains the campsite stays mud free and dry as the water filters through the ground. Kris the owner and his wife is more than welcoming , they were very helpfull as always throughout our stay. I have nothing negetive to say about the campsite for it more than accommodated our needs and wants. a visit to this campsite is a must do for you and your family to get away from the hussle and bussle of a busy life. It is also ideal if you love hill walking the Western Way and the connemara loop is close at hand. clegan the local fishing village where you can catch the ferry to inishbofin, a fantastic breathtaking island where you can walk or cycle around and witness the surrounding s change as you travel through it. Thank you Chris and Tatiana great campsite keep up the good work. As mentioned in my 20th year or so with then my girlfriend, now my wife and my little girl who is now a teenager to visit this little peice of heaven my place to chill. And to finish my review I would like to say a big massive congratulations in receiving the award for been list in the top 10% in the world as a place to stay. Keep up the good work ...
