Well maintained campsite, with bar/restaurant onsite. The owner and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The campsite seems to be very family orientated, the pitches are spacious. There’s a lovely little stream flowing through the whole campsite for paddling in. The midgies have been around a bit in the evening but not too bad! We’ve sprayed a bit of Smidge and had no trouble! The local town or Glengariff is a couple of km away, really bustling touristy town, with some great pubs and restaurants. We visited Garinish island at the recommendation of the campsite owner and it didn’t disappoint- absolutely beautiful island and gardens with its own little microclimate! Spotting the local seals on the way out in the boat was a big highlight with the smallies. If you’ve time and have kids definitely give the Ewe Experience a visit - it’s not buggy friendly but well worth the trip out, a beautiful forest trail full of sculptures and art work designed and created by the owners. Just down the road from the campsite there’s a swimming area which has been busy every day with the fine weather we’re having, The facilities on site are very good, toilets and showers are well maintained. Overall a great stay and we’ll definitely return again!
