Grotta del Saraceno is a large Italian family campsite on the Adriatic coast. Because the campsite is situated higher you have beautiful views over the Adriatic Sea. The spacious campsite has a lively Italian atmosphere. Join in the Italian rhythm and enjoy a dip in the pool or a drink on one of the pavement cafés.

Spacious and shady

The campsite of Grotta del Saraceno is spacious. The pitches are laid out on several fields, so you don't have the idea that the campsite is very large. The 250 touring pitches and more than 120 rental units prove that it is: mainly mobile homes and bungalows. All the touring pitches are equipped with cloths to provide shade. There are also many trees that provide the necessary shady spots.

Camping by the Adriatic Sea

If you stand on a pitch on the sea side, on the edge of the cliff, you will enjoy a beautiful view over the Adriatic Sea. There's another advantage: the sounds of passing trains barely reaches these pitches. If you're standing a bit closer to the front of the terrain, you might be bothered by this sometimes.

Large swimming pool with sea view

A large round swimming pool and a paddling pool form the beautiful swimming area of the campsite. These outdoor pools are situated on a sun deck at the far end of the cliff. A gentle sea breeze cools down the plateau, where sun loungers and parasols are set up around the pools. Besides a refreshing dip you can enjoy the unobstructed view over the Adriatic Sea.

Travelling party: Family with children, various ages

Der Stellplatz wird einem von der Rezeption zugewiesen. Wir bekamen Nr. 166, welcher direkt neben dem „Bauhof“ des Platzes lag. Das bedeutete, dass den ganzen Tag Golfcars über den laut knirschenden Kies an uns vorbeiführen. Dies geschah auch nachts um drei (!!!) Uhr. Um 4:30 Uhr kam dann die Müllabfuhr, welche nun 20 Minuten lang mit laufendem Motor und Blinklicht stehenblieb und einige Container (auch den Glascontainer) leerte. Nach zwei Nächten, anstatt der geplanten fünf haben wir fluchtartig den Platz verlassen. Der Poolbereich ist recht schön, allerdings ist die Nachmittagsanimation sehr laut. Der Strand war für uns quasi unbenutzbar, da er aus grobem Kies (mit einigem an Müll dazwischen) und aufgeschütteter, brettharter Erde besteht. Wenn man keine Liegen und Schirm mieten möchte, muss man in einem kleinen Pferch am letzten Ende der Bucht liegen. Die zusätzliche Warnung vor schmerzhaften Seeanemonen machte dies für uns zum hässlichsten Strand, an dem wir je waren. Die Mitarbeiter am Platz sprechen wenig bis kaum Englisch, ohne ein Minimum an italienischen Sprachkenntnissen wird’s schwierig hier. Dennoch möchte ich hier ausdrücklich erwähnen, dass sie jederzeit freundlich sind und bemüht waren. Leider können wir die Gastronomie nicht wirklich bewerten, da das Restaurant mit herrlichem Blick wohl nur für geschlossene Gesellschaften gemietet werden kann. Auch in der Pizzeria hatten wir den Eindruck, dass es schwierig sein könnte, einen Tisch zu ergattern. Für uns kommt dieser Platz trotz der schönen Aussicht auf keinen Fall mehr ein zweites Mal in Frage, denn der wirklich sehr störende Lärm (und damit meinen wir nicht mal die Geräusche der abendanimation bis ca 24:15 Uhr (dies ist in Italien nun mal so), sondern ausdrücklich die nächtlichen Störungen durch den wirklich unüberhörbaren Lärm, der einen unvermittelt aus dem Schlaf reißt. Es gibt für weniger Geld (haben trotz Vorlage der ACSI-Card mit 5% Ermäßigung für drei erwachsene Personen knapp 45€ /Nacht bezahlt) deutlich ruhigere und schönere Plätze, auf denen man sich willkommener fühlt!
