Camping Città di Angera

Positives: Pitches are big with adequate EHU. The scenery looking out over Lago Maggiore is breathtaking, day and night. The local area is worth seeing. Staff are friendly Toilets are adequate, although a bit dated. Negatives: The lake front area is revolting. It needs to be bulldozed and start again. There are exposed drainage pipes that seem to empty directly into the lake. The smell is bad due to stagnant water, but this may be due to the water shortages in the area at that time. The access road is wide enough but the surface is a dirt track and very bumpy. The evening entertainment is a bit intrusive and supposed to stop at 23:00. It continued over that time, twice. The site is disappointing. It could be so good. The \'beach\' area needs to be bulldozed, and all pipes and drainage ditches buried or covered over. A few tonnes of sand would improve it greatly. You can\'t swim in the lake due to the quality of the water. A real shame. The lakefront should be the main feature of this site, but it is the worst.
