A large site with all except the lakeside and some reserved pitches ACSI. Five toilet blocks, kept very clean and having excellent showers. The campsite is on the lakeside. The beach, comprising small pebbles and sand, gently slopes into the water making it an ideal and safe for swimming. In addition there is a large pool, restaurant and bar.
The site is convenient for walking and cycling and Porlezza has a bus/ferry service to Laguna.
Excellent site on the shores of the lake so excellent views of all the lake activity and the snow capped mountains in the distance. The site can be a bit squashed when busy as it doesn't have marked pitches. The village of Bavena has a baker and a big supermarket all within 100 yards. The station is nearby for Milan or the Lake Maggiore Express. There are local buses and the pier is nearby and all the local boats call in regularly, this is quite a cheap mode of travel to get to other towns and villages on the lake. The famous trio of islands Isola Madre, Isola Bella and Isola Pescatore are all 5 minutes boat ride away.
The site is on the edge of Lake Maggiore and nestled between hotels and houses. There is a mixture of touring pitches (flat & grass), chalets and bungalows. Shower and toilet facilities were clean and hot water was free but no toilet paper provided. There is also a washing machine etc.
Recycling is taken very seriously with bins for everything.
The site has Free Wi-Fi.
There is a supermarket a short walk away and also a short walk away is the town of Baveno with its Ferry terminal with an excellent ferry service to all parts of the lake, which made the site an ideal base for visiting the area. There is also a main line Railway station in Baveno.
There is a chemical disposal point but the drain for use by Motor homes was behind the entrance gate and difficult to access.
