Camping St. Josef am Kalterer See is in the Italian province of South Tyrol, right by Lake Kaltern (Lago di Caldaro). Here, you are surrounded by vineyards and fruit trees and there is the perfect mix of mountains and lakes. Although this is a fantastic place to relax and unwind, you will also want to get active here and go cycling, walking and of course eat delicious food. In short, South Tyrol at its best!

Comfortable camping

With 100 well-maintained motorhome and tent pitches, surrounded by natural greenery, this campsite guarantees camping comfort in the countryside. A lovely restaurant and café, covered in vines, a small shop and clean toilet and washing facilities ensure a pleasant stay.

Relaxing by the swimming jetty

A small path leads you straight to a lovely wooden jetty on the campsite's private beach. It's a wonderful spot for sunbathing, swimming, pedal boating and for enjoying the view. The turquoise water is exceptionally clear and offers views of the bottom of the lake.

The right tour for everyone

South Tyrol is known as a paradise for hiking enthusiasts, but what makes Kaltern and the immediate vicinity so appealing are the various hiking routes that are suitable for all kinds of hikers.

Wine village of Kaltern-Caldaro

The campsite is within a short distance (5 km) of the wine village of Kaltern an der Weinstraße (Caldaro sulla Strada del Vino) with its lively squares and narrow streets. In the mornings, you will meet the local residents enjoying their espressos on the bustling market square, and in the evenings, people relaxing with a glass of wine after a day of work.

Zuerst einmal möchte ich sagen, dass der Campingplatz St. Josef am Kalterer See eine traumhafte Lage und ein unglaubliches Panorama hat. Das Waschhaus ist ganz ordentlich und sauber.

Das ist aber leider schon alles an positiven Punkten.
Die Parzellen sind klein und sehr ungepflegt, gemäht wird hier wohl gar nicht. Da die PKW's auch noch auf die Parzellen müssen, ist es eng wie auf einem Autohof bei LKW Andrang.
Der Strom wird bei mehr als 1300 W automatisch abgeschaltet und ist aus erzieherischen Maßnahme (Aussage Mitarbeiter) erst nach 10 Minuten wieder verfügbar.
Der Müll wird nicht jeden Tag abgeholt und müffelte gegenüber der Restaurant Terrasse.
Eine Möglichkeit Bargeld zu bekommen gibt es nicht. Unter Service versteht man etwas Anderes.
Der "private Steg" direkt am See (nach gut 200 m Fußmarsch durch ein Biotop) ist für die Anzahl der Campinggäste viel zu klein und verfügt nicht über einen einzigen Sitzplatz für ältere Menschen. Das WLAN ist eine echte Katastrophe. Für Kinder ist dieser Platz absolut ungeeignet.
Die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter lässt mehr als zu wünschen übrig. Patzig, gestresst und frech wird man behandelt (Tische reservieren wir nicht, da müssen Sie halt früher kommen).

Unser Fazit: die aufgerufenen Preise stehen in keinem Verhältnis zur geboten Leistung und sind reine Geldabzocke. Wie schlimm muss das erst in der Hochsaison sein.

spontaner Halt und noch Glück gehabt für einen Platz.
Sanitär sehr sehr sauber- danke
Einziger Mangel ist das hohe Gras, das man zwischendurch mal mähen könnte, schaffen andere Plätze auch.ansonsten sehr freundlich, Preis Leistung ok.
Gästekarte Prima.
Keine direkte Infrastruktur, erst in Kaltern….
Kein Zugang zum See mit Hund erlaubt, keine vernünftige Gassi Ecke, dafür ist Hundepreis nicht gerechtfertigt

Jedes mal wenn wir in Südtirol unterwegs sind ist es für uns eine Freude dort Station zu machen. Alle sind sehr freundlich und das Essen ist sehr gut.

Erstmals in Südtirol wurden wir freundlich behandelt und hatten auf dem gepflegten Platz einen schönen Urlaub. Besonders gut gefallen hat uns das freundliche Personal und das sehr gute Restaurant.
