At Camping Komodo in South Tirol’s municipality of Gargazon, you camp among the apple orchards in the heart of the Etschtal. The campsite has its own fruit orchard, an herb garden, a barbecue pit and its own cafe in the centre of Gargazon. Whether you are looking for a peaceful or sporty holiday, Camping Komodo is the ideal home base.

The campsite has 60 spacious pitches with electricity. There are also six compact bungalows that can fit two guests, each with its own terrace offering a beautiful view of the Etschtal. Sustainability is of paramount importance at Camping Komodo. They have a solar and photovoltaic system for hot water and power generation.

A farmer’s life outdoors

Want to enjoy a gourmet breakfast? Visit the Rustner Hof Cafè, a 14th-century farm in the centre of Gargazon, run by the same family. The campsite also has a barbecue pit with seating, an outdoor kitchen and an herb garden. The farm shop sells fresh vegetables, fruit and beer. Just a two-minute walk from the campsite is a swimming lake for lots of fun in the water.

The countryside and the city

The centre of Gargazon is 1.5 kilometres away, which is where you can find a supermarket, pizzeria, bakery and motorhome service. The campsite lies directly on a cycle route and there are numerous walking tours in the area. Bolzano (20 km) and Merano (10 km) are nearby should you want an excursion to a city. Do you like travelling with public transport? A bus and train station is just a two-minute walk from the campsite.
