Those looking for a campsite in or around San Gimignano, perhaps the most beautiful village in Tuscany, would make an excellent choice with a stay at Il Boschetto di Piemma Campsite. This campsite is only two kilometres from the medieval village centre. Furthermore, it only takes you half an hour from here to reach the iconic towns of Siena and Volterra. Florence, Pisa and Lucca are also close by.

Booked for 7 nights in June, but couldn\'t use our acsi card, so was an expensive stay. Staff on desk helpful and friendly. Tickets for bus into San Gimignano centre can be bought at reception and the bus picked up outside campsite entrance. San Gimignano is very touristy, but equally a beautiful and fascinating town. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the campsite. The caravan pitches near the entrance are all \"hard standing\" ie gravel/dust/leaves and the lighting is extremely bright and stays on all night. The restaurant is open until gone midnight and is used by external groups/customers who have to drive past the pitches to reach the restaurant. It is rarely quiet before midnight with loud music from the restaurant and campers talking or banging doors, despite the quiet time being 11pm. Other campers get up and are moving before 7am, so a lie-in after an enforced late night is impossible! This is the noisiest campsite we have been to so far on our 3 month trip, one of which was under a motorway, in a town which was one of the quietest we went to. I would recommend you visit the area because it is beautiful, but don\'t stay at this campsite!

Comfortable site. Good services. Staff friendly and helpful.

Not enough information about local amenities, for example staff were not local and didn't know where to bring the dog for a walk and swim in river/ lake nearby - only one option a good drive away. Important in summer heat!
