Here you'll be welcomed by the stunning vistas of south-west Friesland. The name of the camping site says it all: Aquacamping De Rakken has no shortage of water. You can see the boats sail by across the Heegermeer from the camping pitches. The pitches along the water offer places to dock your own boat. There is also a marina (blue flag distinction) with a trailer ramp for small boats and the options to hire electric sloops or sailboats. The site is located in the charming centre of Woudsend.

Breakfast on the water

Want to wave at the boats sailing by as you eat breakfast? Choose one of the camping pitches along the water. You can dock your own boat (or a rental) here as well. Standard pitches not located on the water are available, too. All pitches are partially bordered by trees and hedges. Pitches for campervans are located just off the site, on a property that is secured with a boom barrier. These pitches are partly paved: you park your camper on the gravel and there is grass where you can set up tables and chairs.

Diverse accommodation

If you don't have your own camping equipment, you can rent a holiday home or a deluxe wooden pod cabin.

Playing around in the water sports building

The activities team organises all sorts of entertainment for children during high season. Mornings are great for playing around in the water sports building and afternoons can be dedicated to games. Every Wednesday, the activities team sets up shop in the village community centre and special events are planned. You won't be bored between Wednesday and Friday either, because the activities team will be ready and waiting with an exciting evening for you.

Travelling party: Seniors

Kampeerplek erg kaal (geen gras) en daardoor modderig met veel wormen onder het zeil in de voortent. De plaatsen zijn niet erg groot. Vandaar de regel dat auto\'s op de centrale parkeerplaatsen gezet moeten worden. Het viel ons op dat sommige kampeerders daar lak aan hadden en hun auto gewoon op of bij de kampeerplek parkeerden, terwijl er geen enkele noodzaak was zoals een handicap. Vanuit de receptie wordt deze regel niet gecontroleerd. Dat vinden wij raar en slecht. Zeer goede en doeltreffende maatregelen m.b.t. COVID-19! Zeer goede service door receptie medewerkers behalve dan eerdergenoemd parkeerbeleid.

Een echte watersportcamping, geen snackbar en weinig animatie.
In het dorp Woudsend is een prima supermarkt en snackbar / pizzeria aanwezig.

Travelling party: Couple

Hele leuke en gastvrije camping met plaatsen aan het water. Camping wordt gecombineerd met jachthaven. Sanitair is wat gedateerd maar prima schoon. Prima uitvalsbasis voor mooie fietstochten tussen de Friese meren en leuke Friese dorpen en steden zoals het gezellige Sneek. Op de camping blijven kan ook. Er is genoeg te zien aan voorbijvarende toeristen. ‘s Avonds is het hier lekker rustig. Woudsend is de moeite waard met leuke terrasjes en restaurantjes. Vers brood en Friese Sukerbollen bij de warme bakker. Vanaf de camping kun je ook vissen. Wij hebben ons prima vermaakt en komen zeker nog eens terug.

Travelling party: Seniors

We stonden op een camperplaats die bij de camping hoort. De plaatsen zijn groot genoeg maar niet echt mooi en de toegang tot de camperplaatsen ligt buiten de camping, er is een slagboom maar die gaat niet dicht. Het sanitair is heel ver bij de camperplaatsen vandaan en niet goed verzorgd. Voor ons geen plaaats om terug te komen. Voor plezier vaart beter geschikt.

Travelling party: Couple

Leek een leuke camping , bij aankomst bleek de acsi kaart alleen van toepassing op de camperplaatsen , stond niet in de acsi app. De camperplaatsen waren klein en er was geen sanitair in de buurt ( dichtstbijzijnde was bij de receptie )
Ook de balie medewerker was niet erg klantvriendelijk en slecht op de hoogte . Voor ons reden om om te draaien en elders een camping te zoeken . Hoe slecht de organisatie was bleek bij thuiskomst , we kregen een telefoontje met de vraag of men de rekening naar ons huisadres kon sturen , volgens hun administratie hadden we er enkele dagen doorgebracht , dit werd wel gelijk gecorrigeerd , maar toch , wij komen hier niet meer naar toe , jammer want Woudsend is een gezellig plaatsje .
