Camping Nova da Prado is a camping site on the west coast of Portugal, located directly on the Atlantic Ocean. As a result the camping site attracts many water sports enthusiasts, especially surfers. The colourful camping site is specially laid out for campers with tents. The camping site is situated near the fishing village of Costa Nova, on a green piece of land between the Aveiro River and the sea.
The camping site is in the style of the colourful, striped buildings one finds in Costa Nova. The entrance gate, which gives access to a driveway leading to the reception building, has a cheerful white and blue striped motif, which is regularly repeated on the camping site.
The pitches have the upper hand on the camping site. With no less than 450 camping pitches you are spoilt for choice to find an ideal one: at the foot of the dunes, near the entrance or close to the toilet block. Please note: some tent pitches are rather small and are close together, especially in peak season. If you value privacy, make sure that you choose a slightly larger pitch or one of the rental accommodation units.
You don't have to leave the camping grounds for an active challenge. Climb over the dunes, get into your wetsuit and hop on a surfboard. The sea immediately behind the camping site is a surfers' paradise. However, it is not only surfers that are welcome here. You can bring your fishing rod, boat or canoe as well.

This site is ideally placed to take advantage of the wonderful wild beaches and cafes/restaurants in the village. What a pity the site facilities are so dreadful. Run down, smelly and unable to cope even in low season. The grey waste and chemical toilet facility was disgraceful with waste overflowing onto the road.
All this not helped by dog mess on pitches left behind by previous visitors. No attempt to address the situation by owners/management.
Situated by a large beach, (very rough waves when we were there so we didn\'t swim) and close to the village of Costa nova. There is a very good cycle path in either direction, we took it into Costa nova to see the striped fisherman\'s cottages. The pitches were divided by posts and some were very tight, most are not shaded, luckily we found one as the temperature was in the high 30\'s. Staff were helpful and friendly. The only negative was the state of the toilets, they were filthy and I refused to use them, a bit if bleach and elbow grease is needed!
lovely peaceful site adjacent to beautiful beach behind sand dunes and a nice flat walk into Costa Nova a really nice small town where you can catch bus to Aveiro (well worth a visit) and onward train to Porto which we are doing in the morning.
Toilets clean and staff so very friendly.
There is no pool and during our visit in June no entertainment but there is a large meeting room for potential entertainment.
We would recommend and certainly come again.
Just stayed here for one night and will be going back again soon , great for the beach and fishing. You need a bike to go to town but a nice campsite. Showers in the ladies was cold but my husband said they were red hot in the men\'s, think they need to sort this out. €1.60 for a dog is a lot.they don\'t take showers. But over all a nice spot.
You can pitch your tent in a shady, grassy nook (As we did the first time) Or right at the back of the site, within the sound of the crashing waves (As we did the second time). The pictures don\\\'t do it justice. We find it a charming little site.
The toilet/ shower block is spotlessly clean, modern and well serviced. True, you won\\\'t find a steaming hot power shower here. (But that\\\'s not what we go for). I\\\'ve checked out quite a few sites since living in Portugal. Because of the dry summer climate and permanent pitches, some of them look like refugee camps. (Don\\\'t choose Praia da Barra!)
This is a pleasing, grassy site, in a very priveledged location. We\\\'re going back for a third time this weekend. I\\\'d recommend it. (By the way, the opening hours of the \\\'club house\\\' and on-site mini-market are a bit dubious during low season. Also, snack bar choices were very limited last time we went, but not a problem as far as we\\\'re concerned as we like to go off site to eat, or barbecue anyway).
