This is probably the nicest campground we have stayed in during our 6 week extended stay in Spain/Portugal. Facilities extremely nice. Staff was above and beyond helpful. Wish we could stay longer but must keep our timetable.
Fantastic campsite! A couple of the Washrooms were bigger than our own bathroom at home! Always being cleaned ! The staff were friendly and helpful. Only negative point was that there was a lot of tree felling going on near our pitch so it was extremely noisy! Also, after one week we had to move pitches as they wanted to do some gardening on the line we were on. The ACSI book does not state that pitches are limited for members and they are much smaller. We struggled to get our Pennine folding camper onto the pitch! Would stay here again if we can squeeze onto the pitch.
This is a lovely site with great facilities but if you want a peaceful holiday stay well clear of this site .... This site will accept your booking but will omit to tell you that they are carrying out building/ landscape work that will effect your holiday enormously... in 2017 they were building a new pool with JCB’s & large trucks noisily driving through the site ... in 2018 it was the constant revving of chainsaws & tree grinders that was almost unbearable add to that the barking of dogs all night from the Estate next to the site ( not the fault of the campsite) & this site is the noisiest we have ever visited in over 40 years of camping, certainly not a peaceful holiday. We regularly saw people excercising their dogs on empty pitches & one day even saw a dog lying under its owners sunbed next to the swimming pool !!! .... This site has a lot going for it but also has a lot against it not least that you won’t be informed that building work will effect your stay big time !!!
without a doubt the best site i have ever been on with 50 years caravanning
Overall very impressed with this camp. Well designed, has everything you could need. Fantastic shower and washing facilities. Very clean. Washer and tumble dryer, has ironing facilities too. Restaurant offered buffet food lunch and tea, we did not eat here but impressed with what's on offer. Kids play area, animal friendly, large pool area and loungers. Wifi spot, despite previous reviews of being expensive. Large and smaller pitches available. Someone hooks up the electric for you and disconnects, was there within minutes. Everybody friendly. Great stay!
This was our third stay at this popular commercial site. The sanitation block is the best we have found so far. Some pitches are in the shade of tall trees, so it is worth considering how much sunlight you want. Standard electricity is 6 amp, but you can upgrade to 10 amp for a daily supplement. The site is several miles west of Lagos so, unless you have your own transport, you are reliant on the bus service that passes the gates of the site (timetable in reception).
The best site we have used in both Spain and Portugal. The site is large, we were allowed to chose our pitch (both shaded and sunny were available) and water was available nearby. No dedicated grey water disposal and the WC disposal is locked at night! All facilities were excellent, clean and well maintained. All staff were exceptionally cheerful and friendly and a large proportion spoke English. The evening entertainment was good with a mixture of staff and outside entertainers. The onsite supermarket supplied the basics and bread each morning. The swimming pool, restaurant, snack bar were excellent although the pool area could get crowded at times. The surrounding area was interesting and there are masses of beaches (all good) to chose from - although the nearest (Praia da Luz) is a 10 min drive away. There is an onsite tourist info office and they proved to be very helpful. Lagos is worth a visit (by car or bike) and there are plenty of options there from fishing, dolphin watching, cave visiting etc. The site is highly recommended and we will certainly be returning.
Large, extremely well run site. Sanitary facs are exceptionally good. Pitch sizes vary and can be cramped, even the new super de lux pitches are not over generous. Considerable amounts of shade. Swimming pool and restaurant area very good. Local area, Lagos, Luz, very interesting,
Great site. Very friendly helpful staff and a variety of pitches to choose from when we visited Eg according to your likes of shade, level, distance to toilet block etc. Lovely pool and bar area. Restaurant good value with full range of buffet, served meals or snacks. Themed evenings good entertainment and right level. Shop well stocked. Espiche village with few bars and restaurants within walking distance. Lagos and Praia de Luz both a cycle or short drive and both lovely. Good beaches and plenty to do in the area. We will return.
This site was a bit too big & busy for us. Toilet facilities are of a very high standard both in decor and cleanliness. Good location for visiting Lagos & Luz. Site shop very well stocked with a wide range of products.
