Excellent location for Bled, nice restaurant facilities and toilets etc. Clean and well kept. Pitches needed maintenance and there are no rules on noise - so it was noisy! Reception staff are poor on customer relations.
Enjoyable stay despite this and we ate well at the restuarant which gave excellent service and value for money.
The campsite was busy and we had difficulty finding a suitable pitch - the ground was uneven, the grass needed cutting and pitching was haphazard, with some units taking up more than their fair share of room. Reception staffing was inadequate, meaning long queues. Toilet block 3 had a broken tap in ladies, a faulty shower in men\'s and the water wasn\'t very hot. Cleaning wasn\'t done as often as the volume of campers required. The food and service in the restaurant was good, and the setting is lovely.
A good site in a great location. Most pitches largish. Toilets good to excellent. Washing machines a bit expensive. Some pitches require a very long lead - check before selecting to save hassle. Staff very helpful. Restaurant food OK, staff very good. Supermarket next to entrance very good. Baker visits every morning.
Lake Bled is beautiful and the site is right next to it. Easy walk or cycle to the town. Bled town is small but has most facilities. Vintnar Gorge is well worth visiting -cycle rather than walk there and do the circular walk.
Large site going back from Lake Bled. Good sanitary facilities. Restaurant & shop near the entrance overlooking the lake. We ate out one night & it was ok but we\'ve had better. The lake was pretty & there was a small sightseeing train taking you round it. The pitches were a mixture of grass, hard earth & some gravel. We were unfortunate enough to get caught by torrential rain during our stay which probably clouded our judgement because the pitch became waterlogged & muddy. We & other motorhomes struggled to get off it when we left.
Only one night, thankfully. This campsite is ALL ABOUT LOCATION. At the bottom of the lake an easy 6 km walk around the lake and the views different angles of the castle and the island are super. We did it in the rain and it still scored points.
Pros and cons:
It is a HUGE site, but pitches are clearly marked but not huge. Some are in shade. Nether ground is somewhat bumpy and as one of our groups was in a small tents, it took some working out where to put her.
Despite the number of people, it does go quiet at night.
MAJOR MINUS: no hot water for a morning shower, not just not hot, but freezing.
I watched the cleaning staff arrive and clean the showers in less than 10 mins ( hardly thorough) but they ignored the washing up facilties. These were bordering on disgusting. I know it is up to campers to clean up after themselves, but when there are no signs to encourage people and no bins in which to scrape plate waste ... It was horrid. M
As we left I said to the the checkout girl about the lack of hot water and dirty washing up facilities .... She did not want to know; just told me to fill in a form! I suspect they need a lot of forms!
Will NOT be returning
Large camping at other end of lake from Bled Town. Very nice public beach right at the entrance as well as a restaurant, supermarket, and sports facility (basketball, ping pong, volleyball, bike rentals). Note that all of these facilities are not finally per of the campground which has limited internal facilities. Toilets and showers were nice and clean. Only hassle was that, despite having numbered pitches, they were generally not well marked. Overall, though, a very pleasant place to spend a few days. An easy drive or - better - bike ride to Bled Town.
Used a 3 night stay special deal so price great. You don\'t need a pool you swim in the beautiful lake! Great location easy to walk or cycle round lake to town. Great shop with fresh food. One of the favourite sites of whole trip. Many activities by lakeside if you want - stand up paddling, archery, swan rowing boat. V. clean loos etc even had a camping dishwasher?!?!? Make sure you take the marked path from site up the short steep Katrina for a postcard perfect view. Very relaxing stay, if you pitch right at the back of the site you\'ll have great mountain views. Lovely!
Lake Bled is a stunning location. This campsite gets quite crowded with rows of caravans and camper vans. We pitched our 7 metre tent at the very back of the site on the open grass area. Only 3 electric boxes up here but they loaned us an extension lead. It was a short walk to sanitary facilities. The showers worked well but tended to send water into the rest of the facility. The middle sanitary block, which was a little further for us to walk, had better designed showers and much more space for drying hair etc. There was even an outside shower for the dog. All facilities were cleaned regularly. The lake is beautiful for a walk and there is plenty to do in the area. Lake Bohinj is well worth the drive as is the city of Ljubljana. The close by and pretty village of Radovljica has a lovely restaurant at Pension Lectar with a dog friendly terrace. Follow the signs for the centre and park on the right before walking into the old part. Fabulous views from this village. We tried the campsite restaurant but found the food rather tasteless and mediocre.
Lovely site in scenic area. lake Bled is stunning. Good supermarket on site. Swimming in lake brilliant. Showers in top toilet block tended to be cold but they seemed to be attempting to fix that problem as we were leaving.
A large campsite on the edge of beautiful Lake Bled with excellent modern facilities. The heated toilets and showers are impeccable, there is even a Dog Shower. Laundry room with large washers and driers, as well as an indoor drying rack. Free WiFi worked well throughout the site. The restaurant overlooking the lake was open and had a good choice at reasonable prices. Staff very helpful. Pleasant walk or cycle ride to town round the lake (6 km circuit).
Can be difficult to find a level pitch, clear of trees, especially when the site is busy.
