Campsite fairly empty. Pool not filled yet (13/5). Food basic but cheap. Don', accept SCSI as OD - passport required.
Places all a bit tight and chaotic. We found a all caravan pitched in the middle of one access road!
Nice terraced site, but DO NOT fill your water tank here, the fresh water is highly chlorinated and totally undrinkable even after boiling. Buy bottled water at the reception or before you get there.
We liked this site because it was small and in an amazing area. The Pietra Monestary and gardens 4 kilm away are amazing.
The pitches are tight so learn to drive. We found the bathrooms to be clean, plenty of hot washing up water and really good internet in the bar. We will return to explore this lovely hidden area a little more.
Pitches poor for tents. We only used the small toilet block - very tired and in need of attention. We told to stay away from the top area of the site due to a large school party but not warned about a group of teenagers using the bungalows.
The small children ran riot during the day and the teenagers walked up and down the site all night, talking and shouting. The last time at 0400. So check before booking in that there are now groups on site. Overpriced, would not stay again our worst site during a five week tour of Spain
The area looks very interesting and we saw huge flocks of cranes by the lake. This would be an area of interest to walkers - dramatic landscape reminiscent of the wild west. The toilets and showers were dull, dirty and unkempt. The mop provided for cleaning the showers was filthy. Pitches were small and trees too low so that it was hard to get the motorhome on a pitch and very difficult to get it off again. We had to reverse right out on to the access road and it was a struggle. (7.3 metre motorhome) Minimal staffing at this time of year.
We arrived at this site intending to stay for one night before continuing our journey south. The reception was closed at 1200 and we were told to sort out a pitch and return to reception at 1600. Most of the site was closed off and the remaining pitches were extremely small and of mud, dirt and sand. The roads to the south from the site are in extremely poor condition making it hardly worth the effort of visiting.
I doubt this campsite has changed a great deal since it was originally built. Rather tired. Pool area was good and the surrounding area is good and if you want to see Zaragoza then it would seem this is the only choice.
We had a terrific day out visiting nearby Fuendetodos (birthplace of artist Goya) and the war torn remains of the town of Belchite. We didn't go into Zaragoza but spoke to others who had and they spoke very highly of the city.
The pitch itself was good, but felt more security conscious than usual as the site was on the side of a main road and seemed easily accessible.
The shower/toilet facilities were dated and although not unclean didn't feel particularly hygenic.
On the whole, the price didn't reflect level you would probably expect, but the area is worth a visit.
