The quiet and hospitable campsite Riaza is situated in the rugged nature of Castile and Leon. You can camp here near numerous old Castilian villages with a rich past. Because of its central location, camping Riaza is a perfect transit campsite for campers on their way to Madrid and the Spanish south coast. But you can also stay there for a longer period of time. The campsite's facilities are almost perfect: the sanitary facilities are modern and you can eat in the typical Castilian restaurant.
The open camping area has almost two hundred touring pitches, all very spacious and equipped with electricity, a water supply and drainage. Groups of oak trees provide shade on some of the pitches. Because there are no hedges between the pitches, it is possible that you may have less privacy in the high season. If you do not have your own camping equipment, you can stay in one of the mobile homes or log cabins.
On the edge of the campsite is the old but clean swimming pool. The swimming pool belongs to the municipality, but guests can use it free of charge. From the pool you have a beautiful view of the mountains. Please note: the swimming pool is only open in the summer (July and August).
The sports complex is located beside the swimming pool. The sporty holidaymaker can work up a sweat here on the large football pitch or on one of the tennis courts.
In the large restaurant, built in the same Castilian style as the reception building, you can enjoy delicious food. Traditional regional dishes are served at a reasonable price. In the weekends, many villagers come to eat here and it is busy, but in a friendly way.

Thanks to the young ladies on the receiption who were very helpful when we needed to phone the garage after our car that brokedown and was towed away.we could not respond to the recorded messages from the garage as they were in spainish. They were very very helpful.
Stopped here for one night on our way further south. Good sized pitch but no screening between them in the form of hedging. The toilet and showers are of a good standard and clean. Good areas outside the campsite for walking the dog. The restaurant was open but we were the only people to eat. It was an acceptable standard but fairly expensive for what we had.
Perfect stop over, about 3-4 hours from Santander, great for heading to the south! It is 5 mins from the main road. The shop was very very basic, there is no supermarket nearby, so it is good to stock up beforehand. It is a nice walk to Riaza, either by bike, and there is a bread shop and a couple of cafes. There is a nice bar at the campsite. There is no pool at the site, and the municipal pool is next door. WiFi is paid, and this works all across the campsite.
A peaceful, quiet, good, clean campsite with very good toilet/shower facilities. Large, open pitches with little privacy or shade, which thankfully we didn't need. A 20-30 minute walk into the lovely town of Riaza, where there are lots of interesting bars, restaurants and shops. A beautiful area where we will definitely return to and wished we could have stayed longer.
Campsite used as a stop over for 1 night. Nice campsite. lovely clean toilet and shower facilities very modern. The pitches all had very high kerbs which we struggled to get the caravan up with the motor mover. Pitches we a bit uneven a bit like scrubland with lots of ants and there were not many shaded pitches. Reception staff were brilliant really helpful. Free wifi at the bar. Riaza town is a short walk away and well worth a visit and a visit to Segovia is a must which is about an hours drive away from the campsite.
It's a very good camping if you want to visit this area in the winter, but it's not that good if you want to go in the summer because of the lack od shaded pitches. Also, there's a small supermarket where you can find basic things, and the restaurant is confortable. The toilets are always clean.
A lovely situation and excellent facilities. The town is only a short walk away and is full of interest, with lots of bars, restaurants, butchers etc. There are several goods walks nearby as well as mountain biking and road cycling.
Excellent campsite, well kept, inviting even in
winter time. Price average for Spanish campsite. Surrounding scenery fantastic, great for
My husband and myself stayed at this camp site on the night of 21st February 2013. The book says it is a new site, which it is. However the grassy pitches were waterlogged and they could have done with some shrubs/trees to break up what was an open space. The new shower block was lovely, however it was not heated so we were unable to have a shower. So we stayed one night only.
Once again we have visited this site on the way home and stayed a couple of days, the reason being the quality of the toilets and the restaurant. The downside as always is the swimming pool which never appears to be open and although we visited in June it would have been nice to have used it. Staff supportive, Riaza village worth a visit. Segovia is only 50 miles away and well worth a visit.
