Poor on arrival, pitch too small as big Motorhome towing trailer, an hour of hassle and we resolved ourselves.
Cheap for what you get at end of August but it\'s basically Butlins!!!
This is the second year we have stayed here. This time we stayed in early July, it was extremely busy, both pools were very full with children from the early afternoon onwards, jumping into the pool and splashing. There was no room to swim, so we had an early morning dip at 10 o'clock when it opened. The restaurant was crowded too, although we had a lovely meal both nights we were there. The staff are lovely and helpful and the restaurant staff knowledgeable and helpful too. We had to ask the reception staff to organise staff to clear up a lot of dog mess which was on our pitch, which we feel should have been checked beforehand. In our experience there are too many dogs on this site. We had a good time but would not choose to stay at this site again at this time.
Excellent site with fantastic pools. Facilities constantly cleaned whether needing to be or not. We had and excellent pitch opposite to one of the 'permanent' Spanish pitches occupied by extremely friendly Spanish couple who gave us lots of advice on where to shop etc. This is a massive complex with many different types of lodges etc and clearly, as we found on several sites in Spain on this trip, many touring pitches are being converted into some form of fixed lodge, glamping thngy, etc. Numbers given for 'touring pitches' in the brochures need to be taken with a pinch of salt and updated. The is a massive area for the seasonal Spanish pitches which we found when exploring but while we were there, they were mostly unoccupied. Will be very busy during July and August. Nevertheless, we stayed longer than planned and can thoroughly recommend this site.
Not enough Elsan facilities. Two lots of stairs and pathways to get to our closest emptying facility.
Had 2 grandchildren with me ages 10 and 13 absolutely no encouragement to join in with anything. come across extremely rude yòuths (English). and WiFi really expensive unless you buy a drink at the bar then you get an hour free, really, in this way and age.
great camping for the whole family. we enyoyed it a lot and will come back soon
have visited this campsite 3 years running, as it's great for getting to Carnival in Vilanova and Sitges.....swimming included weekdays, excellent bar with food and live or big screen entertainment most nights, ample pitches and helpful staff, who put us near toilet facilities, as I had a broken foot
stayed on this campsite for a week in January 2017
GOOD:- very well organised campsite
bus stop right outside camp
good onsite bar and food
travel about 10 minutes into town and visit the beach front, worth the drive
BAD:- pitches are not flat and have a lip to get onto them, difficult with a caravan
only 4 washing machines (1 broken) and 2 dryers (not enough)
didn't find the shower block to be that clean
would never return to this site as we were originally put next to two big caravans that housed Irish Tinkers. They started partying at 9pm and didn't stop until 2am. They appear to live on the site permanently. We did complain and moved the next day, apparently we were not the only ones to do so and they already had two warnings, but two days later the partying started again.
Lively site with plenty of facilities for a motorhomer.
No choice of pitch and ours was tucked away next to the holiday tents and very uneven.
Buses at entrance made for easy visits to Vilanova and Barcelona.
Would use it again on the basis that pitch would be changed if not suitable.
I have stayed at many campsites & camping parks, and Vilanova would be the best that I have stayed at. The facilities are excellent, with all sorts of different sports/spa options. Given that the 2 outdoor pools were a little cold, it was such a bonus that there was also an indoor pool to tire my 5 year old daughter! The reception staff are excellent and couldn't do enough to help. With a well stocked supermarket and restaurant/bar onsite, it's great to just relax at the site. However Vilanova beach is picturesque, and the beachside restaurants are great. (Try La Platja for delicious authentic Spanish food.) What's more there are buses to town & Barcelona stopping at the campsite & running every half hour. Vilanova Park has it all!
From the moment you enter the gate and enter the reception and speak to the staff who all speak perfect English you get the impression that this is a professionally run site. We were allocated a pitch and then a man led us to the pitch in a vehicle. We decided to move to a different more level pitch and when I informed the reception they said "As long as you're happy we're happy". The pitches are on stepped terraces and overlook the town and the sea front which is some distance away. There is water and drainage on each pitch if you have a drainage pipe. The pitches are a good size. The toilet block is impressive with a newly built modern block with a water feature and garden inside each of the male and female blocks. The showers were really nice and toilets were clean with a cleaner who always seemed to be there cleaning up after you. There is a supermarket on the site open during the winter which is very well stocked. There is also a bar with a tv where there were regular football games shown. There was a restaurant just off the bar where there was a good variety of reasonably priced meals.
Villanova I la Gertrude is a lovely vibrant town with plenty of shops and there is a beautiful seafront with plenty of eateries and restaurants. There is a hyper market in Villanova which is huge and it sells very cheap fuel. We also used a DIY store called AKI which was similar to a Homebase. A lovely site and a nice town. I would recommend this for a longer stay. The only downside was the trees in the winter as they cut out a lot of the sunshine on the plots but I was later told after we left that the trees were trimmed just after we left.
