We came here after a one night stay at A’ Vouga just down the road. We thought this site was far less crowded and much more relaxed than A’ Vouga and we stayed for several days longer than planned. Good walks along the coast and the hills behind. The prehistoric cup and ring markings nearby are worth a visit, best at near sunrise or set.
Lovely family campsite with shady, grassed pitches, located within the grounds of an old Benedictine Convent (now a hotel), well restored church, and alongside a Pilgrim trail up the rocky valley. 150m from beautiful Playa San Francisco, cafes, restaurants and supermarket on this quiet coast road. Campsite has tennis court (management supply rackets), children’s playground and large clean facilities with good hot water and toilet paper. Good cafeteria supplies hot baked bread and simple food and is the social hub of this campground. Good cycling and coastal walking track. Seafood in local restaurants is excellent and reasonably priced. A good welcoming campsite to spend several nights.
A typically small Spanish site with adequate pitches and good facilities. We visited at the weekend when it was busy with families but the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The lovely beach is a 5 minute walk away and there are a number of good local restaurants and cafes. We didn\'t understand the reviewer who complained about the \'walls\' which in fact are the old convent walls and rather attractive! We\'d certainly recommend.
