Travelling party: Couple

We visited this site as the first leg of our three month trek around Europe. Unfortunately it rather spoilt us as none of the other sites we have visited since have offered us the same standard. This has proved to be the best.
We arrived tired as we had driven overnight through France. Monica (I think ) welcomed us and said we could take as much room as we wished. There were only 3 other campers there as we were early in the spring season.
The site itself is nestled in the valley between stunning mountains. There is a lovely little lake about 2km walk away that is perfect to picnic next to whilst dangling your feet into crystal clear water. So peaceful.
Bread was delivered to our door ( or awning!) each morning. Monica even lent us her lift pass so we could get a free cable car to the top of the mountains to take advantage of the spectacular views.
Facilities on site could not be surpassed. Every thought has gone into providing the visitor with anything for their comfort. The showers were free, unlimited and immaculate - also hot - which we took for granted assuming that all sites would be the same ( we now know that's not always the case!). There was also a hairdryer provided as well as a microwave, but the most thoughtful for me was the addition of toilet seat sanitizer spray. Any lady out there will appreciate that!
On the whole, this site is clean, well managed and perfect for exploring the alps. Ten out of ten!

A delightful campsite. Excellent Toilet facilities, Very well placed for visiting Meiringen and for Sherlock Holmes enthusiasts being the home of the Reichenbach falls and of course meringues.
Good train service to Brienz and Interlaken. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The site has the cleanest toilets we have seen. The reception is only open in the evening however you are encouraged to just find a pitch and come to the reception at 8.00pm. Lovely grass pitches and views to die for. Walk or bike into town and see where Sherlock Holmes died.

Beautiful location, good grass pitches, very clean ablutions and friendly cleaning staff.
Dearer than published ACSI rate as they charge extra for rubbish bags and tax.
Reception not very friendly.
Excellent base for mountain walking, Haslital Pass is best value.

Small site with some permanent caravans. Stunning views from site. Flat grass pitches all with a tap & electric. We had choice of pitches.
First class, modern, clean shower/toilet facilities with free hot water. Piped music in toilets.
Backpackers have use of a cooker& microwave and there is a hot drinks machine also.
ONLY fault I could find here was that the push button showers don’t stay on very long.
Chemical disposal point & drain etc for Motor homes.
Reception has very basic supplies. Bread can be ordered for next day & they are happy to accept Euro’s or Swiss Francs. They also have a small bar and snack bar.
Meiringen is about 10 minutes walk away and very popular with tourists. There are two supermarkets and a good choice of bars & restaurants as well as other shops and tourist attractions.
We did find that the whole area had a big problem with flies. There is also a military air base close by so the occasional jet could be heard (and seen).
