Probably one of the best sites we\\\'ve visited in UK, France or Spain. Very clean and well maintained facilities. Spacious pitches with good level of privacy and pleasant location.
A very nice campsite on the hill above St Ives. Very helpful staff, excellent restaurant, shop and facilities. It is a shame that the bar/restaurant and shop close in mid September. It is a pleasant walk down into St Ives and then you have the option of catching the bus back. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and will return.
A very enjoyable stay in a first class campsite, first fortnight in September. Pleasant and helpful staff. Easy access to St Ives. Beautiful toilets and showers, immaculately clean. Highly reccommended. Seems popular with late season foreign visitors.
two seniors in motor home
Our first sighting of polmanter was through the beautiful cornish hedgerows that were smothered in wild flowers,as we walked up the lane from St Ives. We`d asked a couple who were wending there way down into town where the site was, and what was it like .Divine they said, and so it turned out .
The reception staff were helpfullness itself, reserving a pitch we had chosen if we`d care to come back the next day with our motorhome that was on the south coast near penzance. Incidentley, the open top bus trip on which we had arrived,is well worth doing. The campsite itself , is well laid out, giving you a variety of different aspects, and space. Every facilty was immaculate ,which was not suprising as there were always plenty of staff beavering away. A great site, made even better by the discounted ACSI price; a big factor in the number of foreign vans enjoying the cornish air.
A large but very spacious campsite about 30 minutes walk from St Ives (along a quiet lane). St Ives is a lovely town with super beaches, great shops, art galleries, restaurants etc. Site is in a beautiful position with sea views, is very well laid out and has excellent facilities including family bathrooms. Site offers superb value out of main season with the ACSI discount as the site commands a premium price.
We stayed at this site for 12 nights in October and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Always warm and clean hot showers and toilet blocks and never had to wait but the site wasnt busy at all. We had a fully serviced pitch and would highly recommend the small additional cost. There was a great dog walk field just behind our pitch which was great for our dog to run around in. The cafe and pool were all closed up for the winter so we did not get to use these but did lots of walks from the site down to St Ives which was a nice steady 30 minute walk. The local pub at the end of the road was a welcome stop off after walking back to the campsite.
One of the best sites we have found with excellent facilities all in good order. The staff were friendly and helpful and the site information clear. The pleasant downhill walk into St Ives took us less than 30 minutes with a three year old in two but we did use the bus for the return journey after a day digging sandcastles in the lovely clean sand and playing in the sea. Our stay was short but we will return.
We stayed off season and found the site to be immaculate and no signs of end of season tiredness; the toilet facilities were absolutely immaculate - a rarety these days!
The local bus picks up on the hour from the front gate to take you down to St Ives which is a great help as parking in the town is very difficult but if you're feeling fit a footpath will take you to the town-about a 1/2 hour walk.
All in all I was most impressed with the site and will return - and I only live in Falmouth!!
