Literally the best toilet and shower facilities I have seen on a camp site. Seem quite new and very clean, including a free hair dryer etc. This was even nice as the weather was a bit wet and cold (for July..)
The staff was very helpful and friendly, the price was good and we had a very nice dinner at the nearby Hotel. Would absolutely go there again!
fantastic camp site, well laid out with very spacious pitches and lovely views of the mountains, very clean and we\'ll kept, the best toilet block I have ever seen it is modern and spotless , first time here but not my last. well done
Full marks for the owners, who accept the ACSI card in low season at the true rate, not many in the UK do this. A gorgeous site in the heart of Wales, located in a very scenic part and sited at different levels on a hillside. The touring pitches are in a field, the gravel hard standings are limited, so book to avoid missing out, most have a TV aerial outlet to plug into. The grass pitches are inclined so you will need leveling blocks.
The locked, digitally controlled toilets and showers are modern clean and well maintained, hot showers instantly available. My wife is visually impaired and the disabled facilities are very good, with a huge wet room. Your pots and pans can be washed in huge stainless steel sinks, and there is a laundry room too. There is a tea-room on site and attractions nearby include the \'Devils Bridge walk\', not for the disabled because it is extremely steep in places. There is a narrow gauge steam train close by the site approx 500m away. It takes you on a return journey into Aberystwyth and back through some lovely countryside. There is also a hotel some 350m away, which serves lunch and evening meals, some nights have free entertainment with live music. You are guaranteed to see the lovely \'Red Kite\' soar in the sky overhead, with it\'s \'V\' tail unmistakable and there is a daily feeding attraction of them nearby, with a viewing cabin.
An excellent campsite in a beautiful valley. Dog friendly. Superb showers. Large pitches. Good walks nearby. Teashop and store on site with take away. Buildings and grounds spotlessly cleaned. Very friendly site and staff. Very highly recommended. One of the best sites we have ever visited.
We stayed at this site for 2 nights (8th & 9th April 2014). The new toilet block was being finished with the final details and was superior to any other we have found in Europe. The staff (owners?) were very friendly and welcoming and there was plenty of information on the attractions of the area.
Our first caravan trip using the campingcard. Lovely location, helpful staff. Red kites circling on the mountain behind. We were informed that new toilet blocks were being built (opening start of 2014), but the existing ones were fine. Good stay, we will go back.
Our first visit to this part of Wales and what a find this campsite and the area was. Campsite well laid out with spacious pitches but those with EHU a little exposed in bad weather. Didn't spoil our visit though. Toilet and washing up (outside) facilities always clean with plenty of hot water. Very useful cafe/shop at entrance to site. Devil's Bridge waterfalls only 200 yards from site. The surrounding mountain area was very scenic with plenty of walking opportunities. Aberystwyth about 20 mins drive away. A lovely seaside town with restaurants, supermarket, lovely beach and ruined castle. Had a lovely welcome and meal at the Halfway Inn, Pisgah (A4120) about 10 mins from site. We will definitely be returning in the future.
This evaluation has been obtained by our inspector from a questionnaire at the camp site.
Stayed here for a couple of nights. The campsite runs alongside a livestock farm, lambing season when we visited and the site has a strong theme of agriculture, with historical pieces of farm machinary on display. It is very clean and well kept site. There is a cafe at the entrance to the site which was only open during the day when we visited. A five minute walk and you're at devil's bridge, worth a visit. A couple of minutes more and you're in the village (the road isn't lit at night and so a torch is advisable) where there is a hotel/bar, bistro and village shop which is small but has essentials. The Vale of Rheidol Railway is also in the village which is a steam railway and runs to and from Aberystwyth and takes about an hour. This campsite isn't a 4 star site with all their facilities, but it certainly makes up for it with the natural beauty of the area, cleanliness & friendliness, peace and quite and fresh air. We will certainly revisiting this beautiful cared for site.
