This campsite is situated in south of the Belgian Ardennes, on the Semois River and near the village of Tintigny. You are here in the Gaume region, which has a friendlier and slightly more French appearance than the Ardennes. It is also a bit sunnier and therefore warmer here. The park-like, well organised camping site is mainly geared towards families with children, mostly from the Netherlands.
Beautifully laid out camping site
The first impression is that Camping de Chênefleur is beautifully laid out and well maintained. The spacious pitches are divided in groups and demarcated. The most beautiful pitches are located by the river. If you insist on a pitch with ample shade, you will have to search a bit. The rental accommodation consists of bungalows, mobile homes and tents. The wooden mobihut, which can be positioned in any desired spot, is something special..
On the camping site you will find a modest bar-restaurant (outside the peak season and school holidays only open during weekends) and a small shop for basic groceries. You will find more eating establishments in Tintigny as well as a small supermarket (2 km from the camping site).
River as water fun park
The camping site has a heated swimming pool, but in summer the Semois River turns into a real water fun park. Children can play to their heart's content in the shallow water, build dams, catch fish or float on an airbed.
During peak season and school holidays lots of activities are organised on the camping site by a professional entertainment team. In addition, all kinds of outdoor sports activities for young and old are organised by the camping site, such as canoeing and mountain biking trips, climbing and abseiling and horseback riding tours.

We found this site by chance when the one we usually us for transit was full, but we will chose this one in future. The site is very well cared for, grass and shrubs well kept, facilities very good. Motorcaravans get hard standings with grass between which is good to sit on
We went at the busiest time of the year and the site was packed. At first I thought this may be problematic as the pitches are quite close together but in the end it was fine. It comes down to your fellow campers I guess and everyone else was respectful of space and noise. A bit different to some British sites where idiots get off their heads and shout until 3 am. Showers and toilets fine although if you are sited right next door could be slightly smelly at times but this is camping after all! Swimming pool a little small but staff friendly and on site paid for sports facilities well worth the extra money. All in all if you have kids it is a good site. Enough to do locally as long as you have car.
A really good site, ideal for a few days stopover en route for Austria etc., for some reason this site does not appear in the 2013 ACSI book, great pity.
We were given a superb pitch by the river by an incredibly polite young lady at reception. Lovely area, weather unfortunately not the best during our stay, but would recommend other Brits to have a look. Sanitary facilities would put a lot of expensive hotels to shame! Only a slightly grumpy chap at reception on leaving made me mark it down a notch.
