We stayed here for three nights. Very friendly when we arrived, spoke very good English. Toilets where clean but no soap or toilet paper. Showers further down camp site used a coin which you put in before going in the shower. You need to start the shower by using your hand in front of the sensor to make it work. We thought there was not enough room in the drying area as the floor got very wet and your clothes got wet as well while trying dress. The pitches where very we\\\'ll kept and electric, water and waste water where on your pitch. The cafe was closed while we where there as it was the end of the season. The cycle track past the campsite, and it wasn\\\'t far to the town, and the sea front, which is lovely.
We phoned to check on pitch availability prior to our arrival because of traffic from our last stop in Germany. We asked the owner what time we could arrive and he said that it was 8pm but if it was a little later it would be no problem and said we were to ring the bell. As it was we arrived at 9.15pm after a terrible journey and trying to find the site which is very poorly signed. On our arrival we rang the bell and the owner said that there were now no spaces. Unfortunately he would also not let us turn around and we then had to reverse the caravan back up the sloping drive to the site. Challenging to say the least. However, whist carrying out the manoeuvre the owner came out. Not to offer us a place or any assistance but to laugh at our predicament. Suffice to say we will not be returning and I would not recommend this campsite. Far better to stay at Camping Ter Duinen 600m along the road which is not only very welcoming but cheaper too !!
Great location - near the coastal tram and only 15 mins to Blankenberge (1 train an hour to Brugge - only takes about 20 mins then short walk to the centre). Tram tickets can be bought in De Haan. De Haan is a lovely resort. Site very good and cafe/bar very nice and staff friendly. Quiet location. Hardstandings were fine. Showers took some working (hold your hand over the sensor) - signage not in English so had to ask. Will return as plenty more to explore.
De Haan is a beautiful seaside resort with access to golf courses and beaches. It is also handy for visiting Ostende and Bruges and there is a coastal tramway to take you to the resorts. The site is up a side street about 1km outside the town centre. The tourer area is just inside the gate and has hard standing pitches. It's a pity we were not given the chance to park where we wanted as there were only 4 units on site and where we were placed did not allow us to get our satellite dish to work. Still they did have free wifi. Toilets, showers and dish washing facilities were excellent. The on-site restaurant seemed to be used by people on walking holidays as a steady stream of walkers went in and out all morning.
Just returned from a great stay on this site. The staff are very friendly, and despite their protests, their Eglish is very good. The pitches are fantastic, with water, aerial and waste for each pitch. The location is fantastic for a tour of north Blgium, northern Fance and parts of Hlland. Will be back.
Cean site, pitches are large but the hardstanding is very narrow but long, just enough room to get the wheels on, more suitable to motorhomes than caravans, grass was quite long as the weather had been wet, we had to leave our car in the carpark as the owner did not want his grass damaged! Ptch has water, waste water drainage (take your extending pipes so you don't need a waste water tank), and electricity. All the camping pitches are near the bar/snackbar and very close to the children's playground. There are good facilites for the kids. Could be very noisy in high season.
Toilets are very clean but no heating or toilet paper, so take your own.
De Haan is a lovely place, nice shops, bars etc, get the tram to Ostende or further afield, very cheap, buy your ticket at the station as it is cheaper,
Ideal location for a visit to Brugge, but to be honest not a lot to do to encourage us to go back. We used our ACSI card and got an off season discount.
