This campsite is located in the Loire Valley, just a few kilometres from the popular Loire à Vélo cycle route, in the town of Saint-Avertin. This is a suburb of the larger city of Tours, the centre of which is about five kilometres from the campsite. While Camping Tours Val de Loire Onlycamp thus has a nice central location, you will still be camping in a quiet spot along the banks of the River Cher. This campsite attracts campers from around the world. Many of them are in transit. The campsite is located near the exit of the A10 motorway (Paris-Bordeaux).

The reception staff were helpfully
We knew we were arriving late - we had pin for entry and pitch no but knew there could be a problem from past experience. We tried to phone you to confirm but you never responded. When we arrived someone else had taken our pitch. He was rude and abusive. We had to tour the site in the dark to find an alternative- the site was full so it was difficult. You need to protect reserved pitches and answer the phone.

Showers were good, location good for Tours. Buses very busy but still can walk in but takes 1 hour, vet around the corner for AHC wormer etc.
Reception was not open when advertised, and reception staff could be more friendly

Close to river
Toilets and showers were not particularly clean. Several cabins full of constantly shouting, screeching teenagers on a school or sports trip made for a not relaxing afternoon, evening or morning!

A quiet relaxing site
Water point signposted clearly and chemical waste disposal signposted as I was asked by three campers where these were located

A lovely site right on the river and with brilliant amenities, including a really nice cafe serving hot food in the evening. We will definitely be coming back.
Tried to look at booking for next year but the site just says 'dates unavailable' for every date, so it'd be good to have more information, also on the cost of the lodges and small houses.
