We have been to this site before and thoroughly recommend It. Bus opposite the site goes into Augsberg. I was impressed how she knew my name as I walked in the door. The restaurant is very pleasant. Toilets are immaculate, in fact all the facilities are well maintained. The supermarket opposite is very handy. Only downside is the busy road. Lots of trucks.
Lech is handy as a stopover site from the motorway and is situated on a lovely lake with an on site restaurant and bar, which had a reasonable offering. While it has good toilet & washrooms, these were overstretched during our stay as there\'s only 1 block for the whole site. The small numbers of toilets and showers meant that we couldn\'t always use these when we wanted. We also found the site a bit too regimented e.g. keys for shower/ toilets and drinking water taps (for which it\'s necessary to pay a deposit). There is also a admin fee if you book a pitch in advance making a one night stay expensive when in a small town - for a 2-person compact motorhome. While a good site with excellent staff, we had some reservations.
Lech is handy to visit Dachau from. It\'s a clean site with a friendly staff who were keen to help. Has a small bar where you can get drinks and food. Beer and lunch were reasonable price and ok. We used Lech on short notice so booked on the day. Thank you for accepting us. Toilet facilities excellent. Clean, well stocked and unlimited hot water. Well done Lech!! We had a small pitch by the lake, we couldn\'t see the lake as lots of reeds in way and the pump and birds were quite noisy. It does turn off at night so not too bad. The site was well lit at night so in a tent can be bright. As we were last minute it may be that we had a small pitch surrounded by tents and campers but this place does seem geared up to families in caravans and campers. So if you like quiet camp think twice, the kids are laughing, crying, running about. So idea for families. Overall a nice place. Near Munich and Dachau. Thanks Lech.
Campsite is located a few minutes from the motorway and 10 mins drive to Augsburg. So it is convenient for Augsburg and surroundings and also as a stopover.
The site has a number of mature trees and hedges giving shade and separation. There are also permanent caravans adjacent. The site is well laid out. The service from reception was excellent. Fresh bread can be ordered daily. The toilet block was medium size and spotlessly clean - maybe a bit overcrowded in peak season. There is a nice swimming lake on the site with boating facilities, etc - great for children. The on-site bar/restaurant was reasonably priced and had nice food. Staff were friendly and efficient.
The surrounding area semed nice, though we spent more time sightseeing in Augsburg which was a lovely town.
Overall a really well run site that I would recommend to anyone.
This is a very family-centred campsite. Its very near the motorway, so there's a lot of passing trade, we found that this made for a lively fun atmosphere in the evenings as people were swapping stories about where they had been and where they were going. The lake is warm for swimming and there are a variety of boats, surf boards, etc. for free use by the campers. There are bikes, scooters, go karts also for free. The playground is suited to younger kids but there is a trampoline and table tennis table for older ones. The bar/restaurant area is by the lake. There is also a shop selling caravan supplies and the owner can carry out repairs on caravans. The ony downsides with this site are, that it does have road noise as its very near the road and there are also many rules, ie you must have a key to open the toilet block and use water taps, Quiet after 10 pm and between 12 and 2 pm. Sanitary block is spotless and showers excellent. Theres plenty to see and do near this site. recommended.
Surprisingly on booking for a two night stay we had to pay 20€ deposit before we could get full confirmation of the dates, then on arrival were charged a 3€ admin fee. In addition this is ACSI inspected but does not participate in the ACSI out of season offer. This should not detract from the quality of the site, everything you could possibly want: dream showers, bikes and cars for children, a library, WiFi (at 1€/hour a bit pricey), even free liquid to add to the chemical toilet when you empty) and beautiful surroundings. Tip: If you use the bus to go into Augsburg then it's worth walking one stop nearer the town since you are then in a different 'zone' and you can save 8€ on a day ticket for two. Note that the last bus from Augsburg is around 21.45 during the week - cost of a taxi? Around 15€.
Very friendly and well run campsite, facilities excellent and very clean. Boats, surf boards etc for the children in the lake, trampoline and ping pong available also. Only had an overnight stop here but was told about the supermarket and restaurant etc. Would recommend this site to anyone visiting this area, well worth a visit.
