We stayed there two nights in 2018.
FACILITY: The main bathroom/shower facility is co-located with the reception building. They looks like a brand new modern style facility, I had an issue with the ventilation system. All door and windows were closed and ventilation system was not working properly because I was able to smell… There are also a few small bathroom/show facility but they are not clean and poorly renovated.
PITCH: small and narrow road to get to the camping pitch! They designed a big circle pitch area and divided by 8 sites, which looks like a pizza shape. So your pitch will look like a slice of pizza and it was not each to locate my caravan and the vehicle. No additional parking lot was not provided as well.
STAFF: I was impressed with only temporary staffs who was working at the reception desk. They all looked like High School/College students who were very friendly and motivated.
GATE: Don’t even think about getting out-in between 2200hrs and 0700 because the owner will not let you in or out! You cannot even leave there because they do not want to open the gate. I was planning to leave the site at 0630hrs to meet the train/ferry schedule. Normally 0630hrs, reception desk is open and employee is on duty. When I ask them to open the gate, they refused because policy states 0700hrs. I don’t know what big deal about opening the gate at 0630hrs is, we parked the vehicle at the gate waited until 0700hrs. I even told them that all payment have been completed but, they ignored. I hope no guest had any emergency situation because vehicle cannot even leave the site between 2200hrs to 0700hrs.
RESERVATION: We called and made a reservation but they do not send you any confirmation mail or call. This type of business behavior tells me that they do not appreciate our visit.
THING TO KNOW: This whole camping site smell like a horse farm because the horse farm is co-located here. This bothered us when we cook and eat smelling the horse urine. Just wanted to share from our experience!
AFTER 2 WEEKS LATER
We visit the site again. Of course we already made a reservation ahead of time. As we traveled from Croatia with a heavy traffic, we arrived there around 2220hrs. Gate was closed but reception building was opened. I went to the main door to enter, the employee who was talking on the phone inside, suddenly approached the door and locked it. I just waited outside for about 5 minutes, but she was still talking on her cell phone. I gently knocked the door to get her attention, she started yelling at me by pointing her index finger at me, “Moment” I stepped back and waited another 5 minutes. At that time another guest, German guy who arrived late approached the door and gently knocked. She unlocked the door. I gently told her from outside that I was the customer with a reservation for three days and not to yell. She said that she couldn’t help me because of my attitude. She suddenly went back to the building and locked the door again. This time, other guest knocked and tried to talk to her. He simply asked for late check-in but she kept blaming us because we were late and approached her with bad attitude. He gently asked her to slow and calm down. She suddenly went back inside and locked the door again.
A few minutes later, the owner and his wife arrived. He roughly pulled over his car right next to my van, my three kids and wife was staying in the car and observed everything. I simply explained him that we had a reservation but no customer service was provided. He suddenly swung his right arms in front of my face and screamed for no reason. I was able to smell him, he was drunken. I asked him what that mean was. He aggressively extend his left arm in front of my eye and pointed his watch. “This is after 10 PM Good Bye” I already told him if we can check in because we did have any place to go and I was not able to drive since I travel over 12 hours from Croatia. However, He basically told us to leave his property. I also told him not to talk and treat the customer like shit and turned about toward my car, he aggressively follow me and yelled at me again. Yes I can, that means you take your car and caravan and leave my property. I wanted to call the police but my 1yrs old baby was crying and I had to relocate my family. When I left the site I observed the owner escorting the other German guest back to his car and gently talking and shaking his hand.
Please do not visit this camping site. They do not appreciate your visit. The owner threatening the customer and his is a Racist.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff greeted us at reception. Fantastic site with views of the mountains. Facilities were spotless, modern, and well designed. Showers were not push button and super powerful. Enjoyed a dip in the pool and a Wiener schnitzel at the on site bar. Plenty for families to do and still really quiet.
was a great place to stay for a week , very hot weather ,nice pitch , clean toilets etc easy access to most venues in northern Austria .
only bad point was poor mobile and very slow and poor WiFi that blocks you out every ten mins .
