Camping park Gitzenweiler Hof, also referred to as GITZ, is located in the town of Lindau. From this camping site it is only a ten-minute drive to Lake Constance. When you drive towards the five star camping site, you will see the snow-capped mountain tops in the background, an idyllic sight!
The standard pitches (partly compacted, partly grass) are suitable for smaller caravans. Like to have more space? Opt for a comfort pitch. There is a separate lawn for tent campers. The sanitary facilities of the camping site are really nice. For instance, sanitary building 4 has a genuine wash paradise for children complete with Fany the Elephant, the cheerful mascot of the camping site.
Take a refreshing dive
Centrally located on this family camping site you will find the large, heated swimming pool. Next to it is a small toddler pool. Head for Lake Constance if you want to cool down some more. It is ideal for swimming, windsurfing, kayaking or just soaking up the sun on the beach.
Family camping site in Bavaria
Children are the main focus during this holiday in Bavaria. They can do crafts, dance, learn conjuring tricks, play soccer, go on pony rides and so on. And what's more, they will go on a treasure hunt, make apple juice or bake bread. Feel like a sports-filled afternoon? If so, you can play beach volleyball, table tennis, soccer or go slacklining.
Italian or German?
This camping site offers you a choice of two restaurants. Feel like Italian? Grab a seat in Pizzeria & Restaurant Pinocchio. But you can also get a bite to eat in the tavern on the camping site. For a quick snack you can go to the snack bar. Obviously, you may want to get a currywurst or schnitzel here. Another option is to prepare your own meal. The camping site supermarket stocks a wide range of products.

Nice site Lindau is a beautiful area. Sanitary facilities clean and well kept. Staff very helpfully and friendly
The downside the owner is very greedy and crams you in like sardines pitches very small even their so called large pitches, more like a busy car park and no room around vans for children to play. We booked for 7 nights but moved on after 3
As we only stopped one night, we used the motorhome overnight area (caravans also permitted) which is in the car park. This only has 6 amps electricity, to get more you need to be on a proper pitch, which was quite expensive. There was a bit to go for water and waste, and this was not very well signed.
A large and efficiently-run site, but it suffered from overcrowding when I was there in mid-August -- the sanitary blocks were inadequate to cope with the demand. Tent campers are discriminated against; they are segregated into an area next to the road and railway line, with a long walk to the sanitary blocks with hot water. There are two independent restaurants on the site; the one I tried was good.
If you have children under 11 I think this site is for you, the staff are very child friendly. The site is clean and well looked after. Booking in can be a problem when two or three campers turn up at the same time, they should look at this. The evenings are quiet and I feel they could put on some entertainment after 9 pm, not every night but some would be nice. The showers are clean but a little hit and miss heat wise. The food in the restaurant is first class but they do need one or two more staff. Overall a nice site but could be so much better if they address these small problems.
