Camping Gythion Bay

First time at Camping Gythion Bay – Extremely well-organized, we had a wonderful time! ​Our first time at Camping Gythion Bay and our overall impressions are very positive. It is one of the most organized and clean campsites we have ever visited. ​What we liked: ​Cleanliness & Care: Continuous and thorough cleaning in the toilets, showers, and all common areas. ​Location & Facilities: Beautiful beach right in front, very well-kept bar and restaurant. ​For Families: Nice playground and a variety of activities that keep both kids and adults entertained. ​Kitchen Infrastructure: A very smart system with two baskets per camper for the shared fridges, ensuring order. It also features a commercial freezer and gas stove rings. ​Safety: Cars are only allowed inside to load and unload equipment and are then parked in a private parking area outside the campsite, which provides extra safety, especially for young children. ​Areas for improvement / Concerns: ​Pool Cleanliness: Although the pool area is beautiful, due to the high volume of people and perhaps poor management of the filters/chemicals, the water was permanently cloudy, murky, and had a yellowish-green tint for all 9 days of our stay. ​Cooking / Fridge area: A very narrow space with minimal ventilation. When many people are cooking (especially fish or food that produces heavy smoke), the heat and smoke create suffocating conditions. An extraction system or at least a window above the stovetops is definitely needed. ​Chemical toilet disposal: Emptying into a standard toilet bowl is inconvenient. Additionally, the lack of a floor drain creates a hygiene issue, as the washdown water is simply pushed outside. ​Shading & Terrain Layout (Rain): A shade sail is essential (some pitches even lack tie-down points). Also, because the tent pitches sit at a lower level (in a "dip") relative to the main road, there is serious concern that during a heavy summer rainstorm, the pitches will flood due to the lack of drainage. ​Noise & Prices: Quite noisy during the evening hours (an issue of camper etiquette), an annoyingly loud hand dryer in the toilets during the night, and bar/restaurant prices ranging from average to a bit steep (to be expected). ​Conclusion: One of the best campsites we have ever been to. The downsides we mentioned are not deal-breakers, provided the management makes the appropriate fixes. Our little girl loved it, we had a fantastic time, and we will definitely return!

Sehr freundlicher Empfang und sehr hilfsbereit bei der Vermittlung eines Mietautos. Camping hat schöne Plätze unter Orangenbäumen und gepflegte Sanitäranlagen und einen schönen Pool am Meer. Nach Gythio mit dem Fahrrad etwa 20 Minuten, teilweise Fahrradweg.

It was amazing. Very friendly staff, nice place with a pool (it was already open). Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open yet, but our stay will last in our Hearts. Trip to Gythio with biscicles was bit adventure, because of the bikes...but hey... we are in greece ;-) Thanks for all

we had a wondefull week. The staff was verry helpfull and friendly. Dinner on a nice location was verry good. Swimmingpool was nice and verry comfortable seats arround. We surely come back on this camping site. Rob en Anne Dalenoort

An excellent site. The only problem was the arrangement of pitches. This meant that there was someone behind us who had great difficulty in getting in and out of his pitch with his campervan without either us or our neighbours having to move! This poor design would make me think very hard before booking again.
