this realy is amazing, one of the best we have stayed on, we stayed here a week, it was quite busy but there is plenty of space to find a nice quiet spot, ther is a smell from the fumeroles, but it in not unpleasant, don,t miss the amphitheater down the road and the town where there is a good supermarket.
An amazing experience! From driving through the extremely narrow entrance archway with relief that we'd actually found it and arrived in one piece to discover the website description was not exaggerating. It really is situated in a deep bowl which is an extinct volcano. The owners give guided tours to groups of the Volcano which is quite a local attraction, campsite seems to almost take second place in their priorities. Pitches on grass with some trees, reasonably level with no marked out areas so you choose your orientation. Great as we could see wisps of sulphurous smoke oozing out of the hillside above us. Washrooms pretty basic but water was hot. Staff spoke good English and were very helpful to plan our outings. We caught train from station about 1 mile away into Naples 3 times. Very convenient as could walk downhill to station and catch local bus back if too tired to walk up the hill after a day sightseeing. A truly memorable campsite - and the foc walk round the volcano a bonus.
We spent two nights in this camp. They accepted the ACSI card and we payed 15 euro for two adults and 7,5 for each child. The total price for two nights was 60 euro. The camp is well connected with Napoli, there is a bus station in front of the camp. And the pizza restaurant out side the camp is excellent.
A fantastic camp site, featuring it's very own volcano. We found it by accident (couldn't find the site we were heading for) and it was better than we could have hoped for. The local area has good shopping and some ancient sites to see, with a short bus ride to Naples. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Pizza place on site excellent. Facilities on the site were very good and the setting was lovely.
A green, shady, uniquely delightful spot found quite unexpectedly. The only campsite I've ever seen with its own private volcano! Quiet, friendly, helpful.
