Camping Esmeralda lies directly behind the dunes, on the Belgian coast in West Flanders. The campsite is easy to reach by car and public transport. This is an ideal campsite for youngsters wanting to attend festivals in the area, although families are also well-represented here. The coastal strip benefits from a favourable microclimate: milder temperatures, more sun and less rain than in the region behind it.
The campsite borders on the dunes, which you can reach via a pedestrian bridge from the campsite. On the other side, you will find the historic village of Blankenberge.
The campsite with its slightly dated look evokes a feeling of nostalgia. The grounds are divided into fields for tents, motorhomes and caravans. The terrain is open, without demarcation between the pitches.
Festivals and families
Esmeralda not only has room for camping guests but also offers rental accommodation (studios). These are intended for couples and families. A lot of youngsters make use of this campsite as a base to attend music festivals. Others enjoy the sun and the sea, nature and excursions, or simply play near the modest pool, including toddler pool for the little ones.
Eating and drinking
You can eat something at any time of the day. You can have breakfast in the bistro in the morning, but during the day you can also have a bite to eat here, such as a quick meal (French fries and snacks). The terrace near the bistro is a pleasant place to relax. Furthermore, there is a shop for essential supplies.
