This campsite sells itself on its proximity to the Menin Gate etc. In the summer it gets crowded and they have to turn away custom. As per usual in Belgium, pitches are close together. Toilets are only average but OK. Staff are good. Recommended, but book in advance.
Stop here for 2 nights; staff very friendly campsite clean toilets and showers good standard, was on a motorhome pitch hard standing the only down side was you are very close to next motorhome but well worth staying for WWI tours Menin Gate only a 4 minute bike ride also local shops near by so all in all well worth the money and visit.
Good site for visiting the area and the Menin Gate, or as a stopover. Mens showers in need of TLC, but on the whole close to all needs e.g. Supermarket, etc. Would call again
Best thing about this site is the location. Within 10/15 min walk to Ypres centre (on flat). Pitch a bit tight but adequate for short stay. Toilet facilities ok altho if on pitch at top of site or in a tent shower/pot cleaning etc a bit of a walk.
Been to this campsite a few times now, and we love it, its central for us to explore the salient area, the pitches are just right for us and our caravan and awning, close to the town centre, the toilets are always clean and tidy
Ideal site to visit Ypres just a short walk. Hardstanding motorhome pitches are VERY close together and there is a slight side slope. Pitches further into the site through a second barrier, looked bigger, had grasscrete and a water point
Toilet block next to sports ground was basic and OK, just, not a lot of water came out of the shower head, which was probably just as well as it was very hot.
Automated book-in seemed to work OK and advice is to book in advance as 3 days we stayed site was full, with majority staying for just 1 night.
Supermarket a short walk away, and there was noise from local industrial estate but it didn\'t keep us awake.
Great value when so close to center of Ypres
Site is near the stadium so beware of loud tannoy announcements especially at weekends so take your ear plugs. Toilets were clean and tidy but no toilet paper on busy days as the stadium shares the toilet. Pitches are a little small compared to the French ones. Reception staff helpful and pleasant. Very handy for Ypres.
We stayed here in a tent for one night.
This site is very cheap!
The tenting field is very nice mown grass and plenty of trees and bushes. The only problem is you have to park your car on the road to the side. although there is nothing else on the road so no passing traffic.
The toilet facilities are clean but dated.
The site is within walking distance of Ypres and the menin gate
We have stayed on this site many times, but never tire of coming here. It is a close 10 minute walk to the lovely town with the main feature of the Menin gate where the Last Post ceremony takes place every night at 8pm.
The site is an ideal place for visiting the war cemetries
and there is an excellent WW1 museum in the town.
Hardstandings are available for camper cans. The sanitary facilities are clean, but starting to look a little tired and can become a bit stretched in peak times.
It is an ideal stop off point for returning to or travelling from the tunnel, as it is only a 1 1/2 hr drive.
It does pay to book in peak periods as it is a popular site.
It is a small site, very reasonably priced, the mens showers were looking very tired when we last visited (with a lot of mould on the ceiling). We come here at least once a year and enjoy it very much though.
