Three kilometres from the Croatian harbour town of Zadar you will find Camp Zadar. The location of the camping site is ideal because of its proximity to attractive towns and the lively coast. The many pine trees close to the beach and around the camping site ensure ample shade. The centre of Zadar can be reached via a short bike ride along the coast.
Park-like terrain with a view
Camp Zadar is located in park-like surroundings and has a Mediterranean and hospitable ambiance. The shaded terrain is divided into several fields. There is a small playground near the water's edge where you will also find the more spacious open pitches with a view of the sea. A view for miles of the clear seawater is a pleasant treat. The camping site offers free access to the narrow beach with small pebbles.
Swimming pool with terrace
Close to the sea you will find the beautiful outdoor swimming pool complex with several pools and a separate children's pool. An elevated terrace overlooks the swimming pool and the beautifully kept lawn. Everything is decorated in fresh and light colours.
There is always something going on at Camp Zadar. There is a childcare facility for children from the age of three, so the parents can also participate in activities. In summer the camping site organises several excursions to which young and old are invited. Teenagers can give it their all at sports tournaments. You will meet your fellow campers when you enter the communal barbecue area.
Zadar is known for its beautiful sunsets. On the promenade there are two works of art: a sea organ and a beautiful monument powered by solar energy.

Toilets are old and whilst they are cleaned they remain poor. There are two main block s for the majority of the park the one near the bar is a little better. But showers with no locks and nowhere to hang clothes is challenging.
Nice place under the pine trees, very quiet in mid June. Lovely swimming beach. Handy to Zadar old town. Approx 15 mins bike ride around the water front.
No free wifi.
Toilets and showers were very nice and were frequently cleaned.
Curate's egg! A large, basic site next to a number of hotels under the same management. Had all you need except washing machines. Large shop and small cafe on site but good supermarket and lots of small shops just outside. Excellent bars and fish restaurant (bit pricey but worth it) nearby. Regular buses from site entrance but why take a bus when you can stroll or cycle by the sea into town? Spectacular sunsets. Good sea swimming -sandy bottom. Only some toilet blocks open when we were there but they had been modernised. Extra for pitch by the sea - well worth the money. Would stay here again but it could do with some serious investment.
Cockroaches cockroaches cockroaches everywhere, the tiny golden cockroaches are all over the forest and they are going to find a way into your van/tent. Never seen anything like it in a forest.
Other than that the camp site is close enough for a visit to zadar.
Very nice beach with good swimming. Small area to sit in, however. It was grassy and shady, which was good. Restaurant next door with reasonable food and prices. Easy to reach bus stop for trips into Old Town Zadar. We took an excursion boat "breakfast, lunch and all the wine and orange-juice you can drink." Spent a lot of time stopping and picking up passengers, wine and orange juice were undrinkable. The excursion sellers are a constant site in camp. Beggars also walked through camp. WiFi sucked. Pitches were large. Bathrooms were pretty bad - not dirty, just in need of serious updating.
This site was basically very lovely, with shady, pine trees and open pitches, which you could choose your own location. There were lovely walks by the sea and along a bay shore line. The bus service into the town was good, with the bus stop just outside the main entrance to the camp site.
However, the toilet, shower and washing facilities were poor and in need of a complete renovation. There were several blocks around the site, but all needed to be seriously upgraded.
