Camping Huttopia Sarlat is situated in the Dordogne, near the river by the same name and the medieval town of Sarlat (and this is a real landmark). On the camping site you can camp in luxury and unique rental accommodation, amidst green and wooded surroundings. There is a lot of difference in elevation on this camping site. The camping site is situated on the D47, which follows on the D56 north of the camping site. When you drive past the camping site gate, you will get to the charming town of Sarlat. It is only a 10-minute walk from the camping site. With its medieval houses, markets and restaurants, Sarlat is an attractive town.
When you drive onto the wooded camping site grounds, you will find the reception on the left hand side. With the terrace and hammocks at the front of the building, you will immediately get into a relaxed holiday mood. When you walk past the hammocks, you can check in and are ready to drive to your pitch. You may have to climb a bit, because the terrain slopes (beware: it may even be steep in places). The higher you get, the more beautiful the view.
You will find the swimmers in the middle of the camping site. This is where you will find the swimming pools: a heated outdoor swimming pool, an indoor pool and a children's pool. A lovely place for paddling. If you want something more, you may want to take your car or bicycle. Less than a 10 km drive to the south will get you to the Dordogne River. Swimming, canoeing and kayaking: it can all be done amidst high rock formations and along a wooded bank.

This site is arranged on a steep hillside. The pitches are unmarked, untidy and in poor condition. The toilet facilities are basic. EHU on most pitches. Many pitches involve climbing hills and steps. The site roads are narrow and in very poor condition. Access to reception also involves climbing up many steps. The pool and children\'s areas are positioned near reception at the foot of the site. In my opinion it would not be safe for children to use them without parental supervision if the family are pitched at the top of the site as it is a considerable distance
from the upper pitches. The reception staff on duty at our visit was not very helpful or friendly.
Good location -5-20 mins walk into Sarlat
Site mainly terraced into lightly wooded hillside. Most emplacements of a good size
At end of season so facilities closing down
Lovely pool area but rust of pool edging and glass on indoor pool building needed cleaning .Inside of pool a bit tatty with broken tiles, doors rotting rusty fittings etc
Shame it has not been maintained well but basic cleaning ok
Toilets needed a deep clean some smelt especially in pool
Not sure what else there is in immediate vicinity other than Sarlat town and market.
Reception friendly and efficient
Mid September not a good time to comment on food children activities etc
Very close to Sarlat Town centre. Lovely staff. Swimming pool very clean and has a free sauna. Emplacements are terraced and a bit muddy due to weather but would recommend.
Nice place, some good tent pitches. Outdoor pool was open and empty, so I enjoyed that. Toilet blocks fine, clean and adequate for the numbers in low season. Walk back from town about 15 mins up a hill, but take it slowly and it is fine. Nice town too. Staff very friendly and helpful, and I think the bar was open in evenings, though we didn't sample it. Wifi at bar area was good. Would go back.
Great location, great views and town a short downhill walk away. Rather concerned that reception and bar not open when they should have been and promised pizzas at the weekend were served Saturday but Sunday, when we had run out of food, were not. And no staff around to find out what was going on. Indoor pool was small but open. Outdoor pool closed. Tennis court had surface like crazy paving and boules area was overgrown.
This site is close to Sarlat but, as has been said, up quite a steep hill. The site itself is steeply terraced but most pitches appear fairly level. There are several small sanitary points, not all open at the time of our visit. They are all open to the elements with no heating, but otherwise quite good. There are indoor and outdoor pools..
Someone has mentioned the path in the woods, but you need to be a mountain goat to reach it!
Pretty tiered campsite with all pitches having a view. Visited in low season and was pleasantly surprised to find swimming pools both still open. Although bar closed in evening, the seating area was still open and free wi-fi available. Bread could be ordered. Play area in centre of site. Woodland walk area. Town is only 10-15 mins but be aware that it is a steep climb back to the campsite.
