Great location, on the edge of walled town so you can walk to small supermarket, restaurants and around the town.
Our pitch was grassy, level and easy to access. A bit of noise from the municipal pool nearby but nothing troublesome.
Friendly (English) owners. Overall a good site to stay at for a few days.
This is probably one of the best sites we have stayed at in France. The English couple who run it have clearly put a lot of thought into it\'s development from what was a municipal site. It\'s a stones throw from a very historic fortified town. Good walks and cycle rides. The washing facilities are modern and very clean. The pitches are on 3 levels separated by hedges. Very popular with Brits many of whom come regularly and book well in advance. Strongly recommend
Loved this campsite, v friendly owners/staff, lovely gardens, lots of friendly campers. Given lots of info re walking/ dining/ cycling. Best site we stayed on...plan to return
This evaluation has been obtained by our inspector from a questionnaire at the camp site.
Wendy & Richard are very friendly and always cheerful and bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. Extremely helpful, toilets were clean, toilet paper & soap inclusive, clean swimming pool & kids play area. On the doorstep of an old charming village for all shopping requirements, and the weather was very good. We will definitely be returning here and recommend this site 100%.
We stayed here in May 2010 and again in May 2011. On each visit we had some heavy rain and having a dog to dry we found the excellent hardstandings invaluable. Each spacious pitch also had a generous grass area and there was shade for the very hot days we also experienced. Richard and Wendy have taken a lot of trouble landscaping the site with drought resistant plants and these give it a lovely park-like feel. We were shown a splendid 1.5 hour dog walk incorporating tracks through woodland with beautiful views where the dog could run off lead , and we discovered another leading to a sandy beach for the dog to enjoy river swimming, all from the site without having to move the campervan. The town is attractive offering at least four restaurants providing a reasonably priced menu each lunchtime, only a short stroll from the site. It is a lovely area for touring with the mountains accessible on a day out. We will certainly return!
We have stayed here two times in 2009 and 2010 -- in both the high and the mid-season. Run by a nice well experienced English couple and their family who have the site totally at heart. They particularly focus on the "green conservation" aspects of the site. The site is well maintained and clean.
The town is just a 5 minutes walk and is good for all your needs, both for food and refreshments and any motoring or caravan needs.
We have NO hesitation on recommending this as a pleasant well run site with many places to visit in the area.
We had a very pleasant stay at the Beau Rivage. The river is just a 2 minute walk away and the town of Navarrenx is about a 5 minute walk. We stayed in a tent and we had a generous size site separated from other by hedges. They have a really nice (and large) washer & dryer. There aren't too many dining options in the town, but the staff can give you a couple options. They also have pizza and fries available during the high season, along with local wines to purchase. If you love fly fishing, it's a great starting location for day trips. There is a fishing shop in town.
Good small campsite - clean and although only two shower/WC blocks only had to queue at key morning/evening shower times. Swimming pool is nice but not enough loungers or chairs. Lovely town but not much to do on-site or off, so great if you want a quiet holiday with some working/rambling. Found the owner's approach off-putting. Instead of introducing himself and asking if all the kids playing together were ours, he engaged my partner in chat as if another camper. Seriously who smuggles an extra child on site!
