Arrived late afternoon after long drive from mid Spain. Campsite not easy to find and the approach road was up a sharp slope. We happened to turn left at top of slope which was fortunate as a right turn would have meant a long reverse back to the pitch we were allocated. Chose site from ACSI book as it stated it had disabled facilities but these were not very easily accessible! Pitches close to these disabled facilities were full but would not have suited the size of our motorhome. Access from our pitch was back down the approach slope and through another entrance. However, any wheelchair user would not have been able to use washing machine/dryer as these located down steps! The other access to the disabled shower room etc was down two albeit small flights of steps. The pitches not a uniform size or shape, pitches by hedge more expensive as it said it had sea view, you needed to be very tall to see the sea over the high hedges! There were restaurant and bar facilities but we chose not to avail ourselves of these, so have not rated these. Only stayed one night as not a suitable site for us for any longer.
Spent a lovely couple of night here in October when most other sites were closed for the winter. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Site very pretty - some pitches difficult to access because of slope but that was the only problem. Toilets and showers were easily the cleanest we had been on in 4 weeks.
Fantastic location from which to explore the Pays Basque.
Poorly signposted , we eventually found the site - a sharp turn at the entrance to the beach car park. We looked but did not stay here.
The access to the coastal path appeared to be fenced off and many pitches on the seaward side had no-entry signs. I think they may have a problem with coastal erosion. Reception was closed. Most pitches were sloping some quite steeply. Other nearby sites are on level ground and are across a traffic free road from the beautiful beach.
Fantastic little site overlooking the Atlantic. We took the wrong turn in so beware. You have to drive to the very front and turn an extreme left through the little beach cafes. Don\'t be put off by people sitting or walking in the turning as we were.
You need a motor mover for most pitches as the slope is too much to push onto. We loved it here.
Nice site with great views of the Atlantic and large pitches. It is, however, on a considerable slope and consequently getting our MH even approaching level was impossible. Toilet facilities were kept nice and clean but were tired and somewhat dated. St Jean de Luz itself is lovely, but it is a considerable walk/cycle uphill and down dale to get there as public transport is poor and the bus only came as far as the site when we were there if you phone first and request it.
When arriving at the campsite it is very confusing as to where the entrance is. There actually seem to be three options, but that is partly because it is a sloping site with two different levels. We took the steep path on the left and that took us to the pitches with the sea views. Ours was excellent and had a great view of the sea from our Van although we needed our levellers as it was a sloping site. The bathroom facilities are mixed sex but extremely clean, although it is one of those sites with no toilet paper or hand-wash. Extremely friendly and helpful staff although reception closes between 12 and 3pm. WiFi good and free. Nice and close to bars and right on the cycle route to Saint Jean and Biarritz.
Fantastic location perched on cliffs above bay, we loved the sound of the rolling waves pounding on the beach. Nice grassy pitches & hedges, although sloping. Excellent free wifi. Very enjoyable walk along coast to St Jean de Luz. Lidl a 5 min cycle away. Access a bit obscure and a tight turn but achievable.
Very pleased with campsite location and spotless facility\'s, helpful staff ,lovely coastal path walk into town of st Jean de Luz ,beautiful views ,clean beach with crystal clear water had a very enjoyable stay would have liked to stay longer I would highly recommend this site
Loved this site. Fair few sloping pitches so make sure you have good chocks, also site has pretty narrow hairpin to get into. Had some trouble with showers as the lights all went out around 2200, but otherwise all good. Even had a cliff top hedgehog !!
Excellent site with very helpful staff. Toilet facilities were excellent Convenient for a good beach and with walking distance of the delightful town of St. Jean de Luz.
