Centrally located in the Auvergne, 250 m from the centre of the charming village of Orcet, lies the well maintained camping site Le Clos Auroy. On the camping site (2.5 ha) you will find attractive flower beds which give the camping site a charming appearance. You have a direct view of the swimming pool and slides, bar and terrace. Especially families with young children, often in transit, visit this camping site.
View of the mountains
You will find the spacious camping pitches (100 m2) on four flat elevations with a great deal of privacy being provided by the tall conifers on both sides. You can also opt for a sociable small field that is shared with other campers. On the terraced camping site with hard surface, most camping pitches are in the shade. You can hire an ecolodge tent without sanitary facilities. There are also a few rental mobile homes on the camping site.
The swimming paradise has a playful design with artificial rocks. You can swim in the heated pool (72 m2), glide down the water slides or enjoy the jacuzzi pool with rapid. The heated toddler pool with fountain is quite large.
You can order pizza, French fries and ice cream from the snack bar. There is also a small camping shop for basic groceries. The village has a supermarket. Each morning (in high season only) a baker with bread cart can be found at the gate.
The camping site is directly situated along a river with adjacent footpath. This allows you to explore the region starting from the grounds. On the camping site is a large playground, a trampoline, a sports field, jeu-de-boule pitch and a table tennis table.

Have been staying here on & off for well over 10yrs. & what was a good site then just seems to be getting better & better. O.K. it's not cheap in high season but for convenience of access from the A75, nearby countryside & ease of travel to Clermont-Ferrand or elswhere for days out it is hard to beat. The main facility block, fairly recently refurbished, is excellent - especially in the winter when it's quite cosy - & the new water slides, an addition this summer to the pool area, will "wow" the kids! We'll be back again & again. Oh & there's snacks on site (including pizzas), more pizzas close by (recommend Mondial which is on the village by-pass past the lake (fishing available with permit) & equestrian centre), golf not far away, a large hyper-market in Le Cendre but also a mini-market & two bakeries plus bars & a restaurant in Orcet village centre. What's not to like?
We stayed here for 2 nights on our way back from the south and would do so again. It is a very nice site, but I would agree with one of the earlier comments "the guy on reception was OK, but only just". Overall I would recommend it.
Have used this site as a stopover every year since 2007, staying from one to three nights while travelling to and from the south in May/June and again in September and have also used the site in December and February while travelling to Portugal. I have always had a warm welcome from the Dutch owner and his family and the facilities have been constantly upgraded. The site is just off junction 5 of the A75 making it very handy for overnight stays but the surrounding area is well worth a longer stay. Three years ago I was unfortunate to have a major problem with my caravan [brakes and bearings collapsed] and the site owner not only arranged for us to have a mobil home for several nights on his site, but when he was unable to assist us due to his own bookings found us chalet accommodation on a nearby site.
Stayed 1 night on my way to Spain, found the person on reception to be ok but only just, the pitch was great, the bar was open but this was for about 1 hour, the takeaway is only open from Thursday to Sunday, so no chance for something to eat on the Monday I arrived. Out of the camp turn right and a small village with a supermarket and a small bar. This is ok for a overnight stop but no more than that.
Stayed on this site for 2 nights on our way down to Spain, handy for motorway and close to a supermarket. Lovely large hedge marked pitches and excellent toilet facilities, although limited during low season (shared). Highly recommended.
