Domaine de L’Orangerie de Lanniron is in a beautiful location next to the River Odet at the southern edge of the beautiful, historic town of Quimper. The well maintained campging site is located in the park of a 17th century castle. The spacious campsites (80 to 160 m2) are separated by flowers and bushes. You have the choice of a spot with much, some or no shade.
17th century gardens
The camping site is nicely laid out next to the castle (a private estate) on a 6 hectare property. You have a lovely view of the river Odet, the orangerie and the gardens, laid out as they were at the end of the 17th century. Due to the tidal danger, swimming is prohibited. You can take a trip with the canoe and kayak club on the river.
There is a lovely heated swimming pool (750 m2) with rock fountains, massage benches, jacuzzis and a little slide. There are separate kiddie pools for the littlest children.
There is a restaurant/bar with terrace next to the pool. You can get pizzas, snacks and take away meals on the camping site.
In the restaurant, a restored farm, there is plenty of choice of weekly changing traditional French dishes. Grocery items and regional products (fresh bread) are available in the camping shop. On the terrace you'll find a playground (with trampoline and bouncy cushions) and sports fields (mini golf, tennis, pony rides). For children there is an activity programme and a mini club (English and French).
The castle park with the 17th century gardens and a large park is 38 hectares: here you'll find Italian baroque and French classical style in the designs. Surely worth a visit.

The site is superbly located for spacious and peaceful camping while being within easy walking distance from the town, along riverside walkways and gardens, past flower-bedecked bridges. A superb site in a superb location.
Visiting in September, there was plenty of space and no kids. All the pitches in use were within comfortable reach of the facilities which are similar in standard to the Caravan Club. Direct access to a woodland walk into the lovely town centre and a very good Netto within easy reach make this a great site if, like us, you prefer not to drive once you've arrived on site. On the downside, the pool is a bit remote and the receptionist locked the door (early) as I walked towards it. Perhaps she'd had a busy morning - did I mention how quiet it was? And I got bitten, lots.
This is an excellent site provided (as I did) you get a pitch that's near one of the sanitary blocks -- it can be a very long walk from some of them. My pitch was rather constricted by overhanging bamboo shoots which needed to be tied up; some others also seemed rather overgrown. An excellent base for exploring southern Finistere.
Out of season so not surprised to find most of the facilities closed down. Clothes sale "Vide dressing" on in the park on Sunday and private functions in the function room so toilet block was used by a lot of people but not cleaned between Saturday and Monday.
Nice location with walks through the grounds.
This is a campsite we would highly recommend. The family who own it are very welcoming and friendly. Plenty do do, with very impressive swimming pool and golf course. Easy cycle into Quimper which is well worth a visit. Pitches are big and well maintained.
We stayed at Le Orangerie for 5 days in mid September.
This was our second visit to this site and found that it was not quite as good as our previous time. The main swimming pool was very good as before. We found the shop to be closed and the very nice restaurant was only open at the week end. There were snacks available at the pool bar but again on a limited basis. Boulle and crazy golf pitches were in poor condition. Our pitch grass was very long and we asked if we could have it cut but this wasn't to be. In general it is a good stop over to get back to Roscoff but needs to maintain the shop and restaurant services and the leisure facilities to a higher level during the open season .
A very scenic Campsite. Lovely walks in the grounds and fantastic swimming pool. Toilet block was quite a walk but worth it when you got there.
A very well positioned site for visiting Quimper which you can reach by a pleasant walk of about 2.5km through a wood. Quimper is well worth a visit. The site is flat and quiet despite being near main roads. The only downside was there are only two toilet blocks with only one open when we visited in June and not central to the campsite therefore not very convenient but they were modern and clean. We ate in the restaurant as it was my husband's birthday and the food was very good but pricey.
